Got there at 1045am. Looks like the breakfast rush just finished. My girlfriend and I sat down and placed our order in less than 10 minutes. (We knew what we wanted). A 3 top was seated about 15-20 minutes after us. We sat for 45 minutes without our sandwiches. We decided our 30 minutes drive to get here was not worth the 1 hour wait or the other table getting their food before ours. Im certain their food is good, but I cant speak to that as we didn’t get that far. The girlfriend has been here before with other soldiers and she remembers the food. If you have time to spare maybe try this place.

It was busy during our visit to the Diner and our service was a bit slow as a result. The food was good, well-seasoned, minus the cheese sandwich that one of our table mates ordered, which just didn’t have much cheesy flavor and had a bit of a rubbery texture. Probably just because it sat a tad too long and got too cold.

The view down to the water was lovely. All in all, a not unpleasant experience.

I was staying in Browns Point for a week and decided to make the diner my go-to for breakfast. Not only is the food and selections spot on, but Britta is an absolute gem! This is a throwback to the days when a restaurant truly cared about customers and had that certain neighborhood vibe to it. I highly recommend a visit and my husband said his corned beef hash was the best he’s ever had.

Thursday afternoon, we enjoyed brunch with my husband, who’s a picky eater due to health reasons — and we were both pleasantly surprised! The steak and scrambled eggs were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned . The waffle was amazing too. We’ll definitely be back with our two daughters.
A special thank-you to our waitress — she was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, even while handling a busy shift on her own. Excellent service all around!

Tough but I’m going to be honest. I’ve been here many times over the years and the last couple years have been a disappointment. To the point I only come maybe once a year just to see if it’s gotten better. The last time we have mediocre food and really crappy service.
I will say the atmosphere is always good. Nothing spectacular but depending on where you sit you could have a view of the water facing west/southwest.
Now back to the food. This time we ordered a $21 appetizer of steamer clams. No joke, we had at LEAST 15 empty clam shells. No biggy I’m thinking we will find them at the bottom of the bowl in the broth. Ummmm..not even close. We had found maybe 2. So how much do you think a pound of (empty) clam shells would cost? I don’t think I had 10 baby clams each between 2 people. That was such a disappointment..like huge! They tasted good but I can’t justify paying $21 for the majority of the order being empty clam shells.
I also ordered the salad that had cranberries, candied pecans, blue cheese crumbles, apples and chicken with a vinaigrette. I have no complaints about that dish. It was delicious and I felt the amount of dressing was appropriate…not too much and not too little. A bowl of clam chowder was ordered and it could’ve come from a can and he wouldn’t have noticed the difference so it was just..ehhh. We sat in the bar which was called “The Sand Bar” so I guess the joke was on us when we got the menu and it said “Browns Point Diner” We went in thinking we were going to a different restaurant/bar. Our server this time around was good. She didn’t have a ton of people to serve so she did good.. just enough to be satisfied and not overdoing her efforts to accommodate, but we weren’t needy either. I probably won’t come back again for another year or more as that’s twice now I’ve been disappointed about something. There ya go..some good with some not so great. But the clams things really erks me! Hope this review helps..I guess it’s more of a buyer beware type of review.

This is a great little place. It has a homey atmosphere and really great service. Everyone is very friendly. We had the eggs Benedict and enjoyed it a lot. The breakfast opens at eight. There is plenty of seating and it looks like in the summers, they have some seats set out outdoors. There’s a nice view north Tacoma and Point Defiance park.

Very nice place for a cozy breakfast and peaceful views. The old man breakfast was tasty and just the right amount. Home cooking for sure but I wasn’t close to home so this place worked out perfectly..

A local Americana diner located in a picturesque setting on a beautiful Pacific Northwest day worthy to be a painting by Heronim or Charles Wysocki. Our server was Brita and her excellent service came with such a brilliant 5-star smile, pleasant and engaging. For our appetites these days 1/2 a burger was sufficient and their Diner chips with Ranch seasoning were soooo good. Ask for a side of sour cream for dipping.
Nachos were great but admittedly they are my go-to; plenty of nacho sliced jalapeños, fresh guacamole , and salsa with mild 1-2 star heat, at least for my pallet.
Overall, a very nice, inviting place for a meal as you drive-about.

This is a classic diner. We love Britta the waitress. It’s a small town sitcom with yummy food, oldies and goodies, great drinks and a favorite watering hole. We love breakfast all day with kickass Bloody Mary!!
