Just had the first lobster roll of the season, and as a Southbridge native it really feels like cheating on our local favorites on the hill. Hands down the best way to celebrate these warmer temps. I had the pistachio and black cherry twist on a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Which was the perfect finish to some of the best clam fritters and onion rings I’ve ever ordered. Highly suggest had the best first experience there and can’t wait to return and really explore more of the menu options. The staff were pleasant and fun to play around with… ample seat even though this place is known to draw a crowd… yes, it’s that good. Pricing is reasonable, but remember, market value isn’t for those who can’t handle the sticker shock these days… trust me, it is worth every penny. I was pleasantly surprised and happy to have this along my drive. Can’t wait to try the breakfast ice cream

Over priced. All ice cream cones, cups, Sundaes, shakes, etc are extremely pricey. For the amount? It makes no sense. I ordered a medium cup of Purple Cow, strawberry with chips, and it was almost $8. The scoops were laughable. Like they used a small toy scooper. I did get 3 scoops, small is 2 scoops. But the amt was like a small compared to tons of other ice cream shops. And it didn’t even fill the cup! See pic.
They also charge you more to use credit card instead of cash. Lord child.
Wasn’t busy at all and they took considerably long to come out with simple cones and cups for the couple in front of me and then my order.
Not impressed. Thought about trying it out since it popped up on my ice cream search in the area but certainly won’t be coming back or recommending to people.

I had not been to Janine’s in about 20 years. We went last year with my son’s TrailLife USA Troop for the charity car show. The food was amazing. This past weekend we went again and it was still amazing. We plan on making more trips out there next summer.

2nd visit this yr..once beginning of season…2nd last wk…both times food was good, service was much better on the 2nd visit…noticed the rest rooms were clean…outdoor dining are could use a little sprucing up…built up sprinkles and food residue sound edges of tables..it’s just not the same as before new owners took over…..an average experience just like Howard’s. Or the clamBox……use to be a destination …lie visiting a chain restaurant now…good luck!!

Great place all around! Seafood hamburgers hotdogs even hot Italian sausage! Big variety and selection from food to ice cream. Live bands play frequently throughout the season. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great place to go on a hot summer night.

An old fashioned Ice cream drive-in experience. Very popular with the locals and a great surprise to those who traveled from afar and found this gem. Not ready to see as it sits off on see road but there are signs pointing you to the way. Reasonable prices to bring your whole family or the soccer team. Nice roadside selections to eat a quick bite or a whole meal. Don’t miss it!

Under new management, same people who have taken over Howard’s and the Clam Box.
I cannot in good conscious leave my original review up when it was the original owners. Not after the disaster that was tonight.
I understand being busy, but being so flippant about running out of ingredients and offering half thought out offers to replace. I’m sorry but offering to refund me and having me go over to reorder after I have already been waiting a half hour is not an appropriate option. Offering to replace the cheese curds with mozzarella sticks then putting 2 half cooked sticks on the poutine was just gross. Not only that but the meat was cold, thankfully the fries and gravy were hot.
Then after finally making it to the front of the ice cream line, I watched the girl make our 2 cones then have to run around and show them to everyone in the back….
We might give them another go this season as this is just the start. But, with how we felt about Howard’s last summer, it’s not too promising.

I’ve been going Janine’s for years and love the place. They offer a huge selection of food and dozens of flavors of ice cream. They have hard ice cream and soft serve.
Hamburger, hotdogs, grinders, and seafood are available. The food is always delicious.
The grounds are clean and well kept. You can sit under their pavilion or under the giant tent. They have wood chips spread under the tent which adds to the cozy feel. Even if it’s raining out, staying dry is not a problem.
The staff is mostly younger kids who all appear to be hardworking and are always polite. This fact alone makes coming here nice.
Prices are fair and quality is high. I always feel I get a good value for my money.
There is a lot of parking but when they are busy parking is a bit harder. I like to park in the road anyhow. The road is more of a driveway to Janine’s as opposed to a main road.
For music lovers, they have live music and a really cool Polish night with polka music. The volume of the music is loud enough to enjoy but not so load that you can’t chat with the people next to you.
I highly recommend Janine’s and I’m always sad when they close for the season. Try them out, you will not be disappointed.
