Ordered jerk chicken for lunch to go around 12:45 pm and the meat was way too dry! Over cooked or over heated. The jerk seasoning could barely be tasted. As if it had been cooked days before and warmed up to serve. Asked for gravy, got none on the meat, and barely any on the rice. The cabbage was fine. Five star doesn’t mean it was the best I’ve ever tasted but overall on my first visit I don’t see any reason to drop a star. In a plaza, cafeteria style display although some entrées come from the back. Prices seem fair and they had lunch specials at reduced prices. You can order small or large portion. They have fresh juices. I like the hibiscus, but I didn’t like the cucumber. I ordered a small drink and it was $6.25 and appeared to be a large. If this was their small then I wonder what their large looks like. I ordered a large veggie plate and they loaded it. I asked for double cabbage, instead of rice and peas, along with peas w/dumplings and a couple plantains. I should have asked for more plantains and less peas. Dumplings are just fillers, I prefer the dish without the dumplings. they seem to have many bread and dessert options but not everything was available at that time. Fast food, nice service, no issues really. Good traditional American approved Jamaican menu. Wish the meat pies have more meat and less bean paste-I know that’s traditional tho. Cabbage was tasty, peas were tasty with a coconut taste, and plantains were perfect. They have other veggies, I like that, but they wouldn’t let me switch Rice for the other veggies as we all know Rice stretches far with little money. I could add those as sides but she really did load me up so I was thankful. See plate pic. There’s a lot of cabbage under the peas.

Ohhh my goodness I love love love the greens here, and the plantains are so mouthwatering delicious, you all have to go in to this restaurant and eat and make sure that you see Londun at the front counter who is such a wonderful, beautiful soul young lady, she helped me out and was very professional and sweet as can be… I am a forever customer at Golden crust Caribbean restaurant. I love exotic foods. The flavor is an unforgettable flavor in your mouth. oh and did I mention the lunch special price is only $9.99. Y’all better catch the specials.

I ordered jerk, chicken, rice, and peas and macaroni and cheese. This is my go to and it’s always a 10 out of 10 but for some reason today, the jerk sauce was not even jerking. The macaroni and cheese lack flavor in the rice was very, very soft and soggy I spent $12 for this and did not enjoy it. I will be disputing the charges and get my money back.

This food cost too much for them to ever give old or dried out food. We always get the stew chicken or oxtails and it’s usually on point. But today the stew chicken was too hard and too dry and we bought two plates. Unacceptable. No one enjoys buying food that they can’t eat.

I went in with my service dog and there was a guy sitting at the door and turned me around. I came back to my car and got his ID but the fact that I told you he was a service dog and you turned me around and was enough to never visit this dirty establishment again! My toy poodle looked cleaner than everyone in there!!!!

If I could give zero stars, that would be more appropriate. I ordered jerk chicken, beef patties and stewed chicken through Uber eats. The jerk chicken didn’t taste fresh. It actually taste stale. I asked for extra jerk sauce and there was none at all in the bag. I called them to see if they could bring me fresh chicken and sauce and of course they have anyone to do it. This was my 1st and last time at this restaurant. They really need a food inspection to come in.

The ‘red peas soup’ had no peas at all; it was a nasty, mushy mess. The jerk chicken pasta was equally appalling. This experience does not represent authentic Jamaican food.”

You can almost never go wrong here, if you want some good Jamaican food. The food is always good. I love the oxtail. I live the curry goat. I love the macaroni. I do not care for the cabbage as much. I feel it needs a little more seasoning. The plantain are pretty nice too.

I visit almost twice a week and today I came in about an hour or so before they closed. They did not have the full menu available, so I ordered oxtails. I noticed that the server gave me only a few pieces of meat I asked for a few more because of the price. They assumed that I was kidding but for $26 this is not what I really was expecting
