I was recommended this by a New Orleans food writer.
The flavours here are incrediblly rich. This is the real deal soul food.
I’ll be back for more for sure…
If you order coffee be ready for the entire pot to come to your table. The brisket omelette with creamed spinach was incredible! If you love brisket, I highly recommend it. They make homemade toast and the hash browns are fabulous.
The walls are are decorated with a lot of great things to look at. Got to look at the entire place to soak it all in.
It was a special treat watching the staff doing something with the register with tape. Love the energy.
I highly recommend this place. If you drive by too fast you’ll miss it. What a treat!!!!
Story needs to start somehow.
I had a late breakfast and it was raining. One of those weeks where it rains every day.
My first time here since I’m from out of town.
I ordered:
Eggs, bacon, grits, toast and they brought me a gallon of coffee!!
Food was really good along with the service.
I wish restaurants started making their own biscuits again, like good old times.
I know cost has a lot to do with it but having a good homemade biscuits will make a difference.
Overall, good place for breakfast!!
All the food was excellent. Had the crawfish omelet, then a bacon/egg biscuit and a sweet potato pancake (they’re huge). 10/10.
The biscuits are out of this world good.
The sweet potato pancake is very much like a gingerbread pancake. Also excellent.
Kids had the beignets. They were good, but my daughter switched to biscuits the next day and said she preferred them.
I miss it already.
The food received mixed reviews from our group. No flavor in the crawfish etouffee.
Fried catfish also had no flavor.
Fried pork chop was super crunchy, but so well done we had to help him cut it (even with the steak knife we asked for).
Our friends who got breakfast loved it. They raved about the sausage gravy.
Another tried and loved the Tony’s Special.
Good coffee as well.
Noisy.
Big parking lot.
Best of all, right next door for a walk over to Pouparts!!
Highlight was how well we were treated by the staff. Appreciate them.
