I had lunch here after getting a recommendation from somewhere I can’t quite recall. I was a bit early for the lunch rush, but it was quite dead when I visited. The staff took my order and I got my meal relatively fast. Service was okay, and the place seemed decent. The five way chili was delicious, although the spaghetti was cooked far too long. The flavor was excellent however. As far as chili parlors go, this is probably as good as it gets in Indianapolis I think. It’s still worth a visit if you have a hankering for chili.

Stop in yesterday day 01/17/26 between 3-4 pm no customers waited in line 3-5 minutes before I was greeted by anyone front line all employees were talking amongst themselves cussing like I wasn’t even there then when I was asked what I would wanted it with such rudeness so I orders 3 Chili’s to go as they were preparing my order I watched the serve scrap the bottom of the pan of chili pan and put it in a cup and add a fresh pan to the steam table not knowing he would take cup of burnt dried out crap and put in my three orders as I waited to pay I watched this employee let’s call him silver man pick up a hot dog jalapeño peppers and eat them right in front of me did I mention he dropped several of the peppers in the cheese pick them up with his hands no gloves and eat them as the grill man was putting hot dogs on the grill with his hands rolling them around to get grilled with his nasty hands I been I customer well over 25years and have never experienced service like this that whole night crue should be terminated immediately with exceptions of one female cashier who was just ok but definitely not rude! so when I got home with the food that when I discovered that cup of burnt dried chilli he added to my orders I will be calling tomorrow 01/19 to speak with a manager and you have definitely lost a loyal customer who has patronized this company for years ✌

The food is always good but their system went offline right as I was paying. On my end it said the sale was successful but the receipt did not print. They were trying to argue with me that it did not go through. When their system came back up, I paid again with another card just so I would not hold up the line. When I sat down, we checked our cards and we were charged twice. We said something to them and they Were still trying to argue. It actually isn’t the first time this has happened. The last time the system said my card was declined on their end but I was charged on my card. The two women working on Friday 1/23/26 at around 2:15 pm had horrible attitudes and should absolutely not be in customer service. I won’t be back. Paid $50 for $25 worth of food. Not sure if yall trying to run scams.

The service was absolutely everything. The chili dog was amazing and just what I was expecting AND what the doctor ordered. The fries were hot and dropped while we waited and soda had an extra crisp.
The pie tho…I don’t believe it was the pie I asked for. I asked for sweet potato but was given God only knows what. The restaurant just opened back up after renovations, not sure if the funds ran out but they probably could close again for more renovations. I don’t know if I’ll dine in anymore but I will order again just not the pie.

Had heard about this place for awhile and finally had time today to give it a try. It definitely has a retro vibe and has a cafeteria vibe with the ordering setup. I had the chili and an order of the onion rings. The chili was tasty and had solid flavor. The onion rings were good but nothing special. Overall worth the stop as the prices weren’t terrible and it’s been around a long time.

I’ve been coming here since high school when the service was as good as the food. Unfortunately, they’ve hired people with horrible customer service skills. I stood in line almost 7 minutes without anyone speaking. When they did they said another lady would assist me and she quickly walked to the back not to return. I walked out.

LOVE this place! The food is always outstanding and is very reasonably priced. Any time I order something fried, it’s dropped in fresh while I wait and cooked to perfection. The 5-Way Chili is to die for – so delicious! The staff is always kind and quick. I hear the tenderloin is oversized and great, so that will be my next visit!
