We stopped in for dinner and what an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with a complimentary soup which was very tasty especially on a cold day. For our appetizers we had the mini spicy sausages which were so good. Very tasty and spicy, but not overly spicy. For our meals I had the Chuleta de Cerdo which was absolutely delicious. I ordered the broccoli rabe which was excellent, it was very garlicky. My girlfriend had the croquetas and the chorizo which was also excellent. We really loved this place and would love to come back to this place in the future.

Date Outing with my husband on yesterday for a 2:15pm reservation at “Spanish Tavern” I have to say everything was exceptional. I had the Seafood Paella Marinara and it was absolutely delicious. The freshness of the seafood next level “amazing” The service “next level” fine dining in Newark!! Atmosphere “Perfection” The art decor I loved so much. I also had the passion fruit sangria and it was delicious. We also had the “chocolate cake for dessert” delicious!!! The presentation of the desserts I loved so much! My husband can’t stop raving about the restaurant. We will return again very soon! Do yourself a huge favor for a date day or date night! Book reservations here!!! I walked in after I was seated the hostess asked to removed my coat so many awesome things you experience for yourself “DINING HERE IS AN EXPERIENCE”!!!

The food here is incredible, especially the patatas — my absolute favorite! The drinks are fantastic, and I really appreciate that they have great choices for those who prefer plant-based options. Eating in made the whole experience even better than takeout. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone nearby!

Food is good, for Arroz con pollo, although it taste good, and we do like dark meat, but it has too much bone, we expect whole piece of meat like chicken legs or chicken thighs that easier to eat.

We ordered the calamari, octopus and clams casino for apps. All were very good. Calamari crispy and that marinara sauce had a little kick which made it better. octopus was tender and not rubbery. The clams were satisfactory. My daughter ordered chicken and rice and me and my wife order paella Valencia for 2. Entrees were good. My only disappointment was they pushed the “still” water on me which cost $10. All patrons beware as it’s a up sell tactic. I hated it cause I was targeted and no other table got screwed.

We had the best experience here last Friday. We celebrated the holidays from work with our families and were treated like royalty. The food was delicious, the kids were comfortable and the service was very laid back and friendly! My pork chop dinner was sooo good! The minestrone soup that comes with the bread is fantastic!! Our drinks were also really good! Can’t say enough good things, yummy and friendly and parking across the street!!

First off, the staff is amazing!!! Every time I go..amazing! I’ve been going here for years but this is the first time I dined in because I was with a friend. I love the food especially the patatas, my go to. Drinks amazing, and I love that there are options for the plant based community. Dining in is way better than taking out, which is what I’m used to doing. I highly recommend if you’re in this area.

Went to the Spanish Tavern with my girlfriend before the Devils game. Was the first time i was here in about 30 years and was exactly the same. Even with it being busy because it was before a game, the service was great. The paella was delicious and my girlfriend’s steak was cooked to perfection. It brought back great memories from when my parents would bring us a kids.

Made reservations for 4 on Saturday at 4:45. When we got there it wasn’t crowded, so we were seated right away. The staff was professional and attentive. The restaurant has an old rustic vibe which was ok for me. We ordered some apps the..scallops stuffed with crab meat and scallops with calamari in a spicy sauce. It was just ok. I wasn’t able to eat the calamari, because they were rubbery. The lentil soup they served was good. My dinner was Salmon with crab meat on top. It wasn’t good. The salmon was flavorless and was on top of a red sauce that wasn’t good at all. My husband enjoyed his meal which was the steak ham and egg special. I should have just gotten the Paella Valenciana which my friend said was good. Over all the experience was good. If i do come back I will get the Paella Valenciana.

I’m starting this off with what I didn’t like. They put a $6 fee on our bill for credit card. I get it. They get this ridiculous fee from them, they pass it on to you. The establishment has to wait to get their money. But to charge for debit card is wrong. They had the money in their account before I got home. On top of that they put the fee and tax in suggested tip amount.
Now onto Spanish Tavern. The place is beautiful. Old school charm. The staff is terrific, also with a bit of old school charm. Our waiter Jose was great.
They start you off with soup served up at the table. We started with garlic shrimp and paprika. Just fabulous. (Bread was stale and other tables had same issue) I got a seafood paella with shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops and lobster in a fantastic tasty rice. Lydia got the lobster dinner and was not disappointed, though she would have like a bigger lobster as they only have 1.25 lb size. We finished with flan which was very good. I also need to mention the pitcher of white sangria which was delicious, well made and among the tastiest we can remember.
