Wonderful atmosphere and service. Signature beer on tap was delicious. Pretzel battered chicken was tender and tasty. Burgers were more of smash burgers. Wings and fries were not crispy

I stopped by Anthracite Saturday afternoon after a long work week. I wanted to find a spot that had a nice atmosphere and good vibes. This one did not disappoint. It was an intimate and lively atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly. Mikayla approached me immediately and took very good care of me.
Anthracite has some delicious sounding martinis on their menu. For the season there is a Pumpkin Spice martini and also a Peach Cobbler martini, both which sounded amazing. I had been craving an Espresso martini all week long, although I was very tempted to try one of the seasonal drinks. Mikayla made mine perfectly✨️
I only wanted an appetizer to munch on, so I ordered the Coconut Shrimp. The portion was extremely generous. It was yummy and the Pineapple sauce that came with it tasted home made.
This was my first time trying Anthracite but it will not be my last. They had good vibes, good spirits, friendly staff, and (the part I like the most) it’s a safe place for a single girl to sit alone and not be bothered by anyone and enjoy a nice afternoon nourishing myself.
Thank you Anthracite! You have a new fan.

Anthracite Cafe is my favorite place to eat in NEPA. Everything is always delicious. They have local drinks on tap. My favorite is their chicken pot pie and their stuffed rigatoni al vodka. We recently tried their BBQ on Sundays and that was also great. Highly recommend!

I haven’t been here in years. I use to live in walking distance so naturally would eat there regularly. It’s just as good as it was years ago! Ordered the wings with a Cajun ranch dry rub (get blue cheese to make it even better)! Country friend steak was delicious nice portion. Chicken pot pie was flaky, crusty, and everything a pot pie should be. Service was great, waitress was super fast! All in all great meal, this is a place you definitely won’t leave hungry

Bacon week another success! I went 3 days in a row. Had almost every appetizer, 3 of the entrees and every single one of them absolutely delicious! The maple bacon risotto I could write a symphony about it! The delicate balance between maple and bacon in this risotto shows the exceptional technique the chef possesses! It’s hard to find proper risotto and Anthracite Cafe does it to perfection! The maple bacon bread pudding was pure decadence as every piece of bread was enveloped in custard and bacon goodness! All three waitresses we had each time we went were the best! The staff here are amazing and care about your experience! Looking forward to the next!

Very community oriented diner. Great customer service even down to the straws…very conscientious servers. Nice atmosphere and environment. Provides different places to sit. Very unique menu with food choices interesting enough to try. The Penicillin soup….Enjoyed the chilli nice proportion served. Beautiful side salad. The chicken with pasta not so appealing. That was just to much of pasta. Need additional fixing up….overall lovely place..

We finally stopped by here this past weekend. It was bacon week. The food was excellent. I had mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat and the Jambalaya. The Jambalaya was really good, and the portion was huge. She had Texas fries and french onion soup, which she really enjoyed. Many beer choices and drink choices.

Overall it was great atmosphere great food. The only issue was that our waitress didn’t come around much. I’m not sure if they were short-handed or if it was something else. It wasn’t busy at all when we were there. She never came over to ask how everything was. Even though that happened, it’s a nice place with really good food.

Luckily we went here on wing night. $1 per smoked wing was well worth it. The Heart attack burger may quite possibly bring on a heart attack. Grilled cheese with a burger in the middle, and some nice size fries on the side. The Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken Salad was good. Not quite amazing but good. The beer is what stole the show here. Fresh, filled with flavor and served ice cold. The variety of beer was a nice surprise too. No matter who you are, you are bound to find a flavor that you’ll enjoy. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were all very attentive, upbeat and energetic.
