While not authentic Thai food, it’s still pretty good considering you’re in a small beach town on the coast of Brazil!
We got there just before 7:30 and didn’t have to wait for a table. Be warned… It’s an open air restaurant so, even with fans, the place is warm.
Service was fine.
We enjoyed our meal.

The experience at Thai Brasil was mixed. The portions are generous, but the green curry was far too sweet for our taste. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, and a second round of drinks—ordered when the food arrived—only showed up when we were about to leave. Service was fair, though not particularly warm. The decor is eclectic, leaning more toward arts and crafts than professional design—think a mix of Christmas ornaments and leopard print. It’s also quite loud, which made conversation difficult. There’s only one toilet per gender, so expect occasional lines. If you’re looking for a vibrant spot with big portions, it might suit you, but be prepared for slow service and a very handmade feel.

There were some mixed reviews about this restaurant, but here’s my experience. I arrived at just the right time and didn’t have to wait for a table, though it did take a while for my food to come out.

I ordered a cocktail, Tom Yum soup, and Pad Thai. The cocktail was tasty, though it didn’t feel very strong — not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. The Tom Yum soup was excellent: sweet, salty, sour, savory and the right level of spiciness, with lots of seafood. It was very flavorful and probably the highlight of my meal.

The Pad Thai came about 15 minutes later. I was craving noodles, and this was the only noodle dish available. It tasted fine, but it didn’t quite resemble a traditional Pad Thai. It was more like a regular stir-fried noodle dish and seemed to be missing the distinct tangy-sour notes from tamarind paste.

Service-wise, I had to wait a while to get the check and eventually went up to the counter to pay. The restaurant was completely packed, which I think speaks to its popularity.

Overall, the food quality was high, the flavors were enjoyable (especially the Tom Yum), and the atmosphere was lively.

Looooved the vibe of the place, friendly service and the food was incredible!! We already heard this place is apparently the “best restaurant in paraty” and it lived up to it’s name :)) thanks <3

1. The taste is not really good. Curry doesn’t really taste like curry, it has less to do with Thai flavor unfortunately. Mango juice is kinda with 90% water…
2. The menu is confusing – the „food“page has only the vegetarian version of many dishes, and these dishes are usually NOT vegetarian in Thailand, e.g., green papaya salad; the “usual” Thai version of these dishes are on the “drink” page.
3. Waiting time 50min+ around 9pm.
4. Rather expensive even for this tourist area, for this price I expect at least some decent taste…
Overall a disappointed experience, definitely not recommended.

Spent months in Thailand and this food compares very well. Was sad to see a number of dishes unavailable when I visited but the green curry was divine, as was the papaya salad! Very fresh and authentic flavours and most importantly somewhere that can actually apply a spicy kick to their food! Atmosphere was electric and our waiter was super friendly. Highly recommend this gaff if you’re in Paraty.

The restaurant was very busy when we visited and we had to wait 40 minutes to be seated as a table of four. However once seated, the service was really good!

The four of us shared two green chicken curries and additional jasmine rice between us. The food tasted lovely at the time but unfortunately we all experienced food poisoning symptoms during early hours of the following morning. As this is the only meal we all shared during this day, it is highly likely this dinner was the cause.

We wanted to share this feedback so the restaurant can look into it and ensure food safety standards are maintained.

They don’t disappoint on the presentation of the food nor the taste. They truly have a good variety and it is a fun mixture between Brazilian and Thai food. It is prepared very fresh in front of your eyes. You can see into the kitchen and see all the fresh ingredients that they are using. The restaurant seems to be very popular therefore service was a bit slow.
This restaurant also had a really large section of the menu with vegetarian options, which were just as great as the rest of the menu.

The food is okay – it does have a unique slant on Thai cuisine.
However, the service is abominably slow. It took over an hour for our food to be delivered.
I know these places are busy, but it was just soup and a fish curry… I’m pretty sure these things are mostly pre-prepared so there was no reason for such a delay.

We came with a big group and that was a mistake.
First the good: Interesting menu and decor.
What could be improved? Everything else… Multiple people at the table tried different variations of copying and all were pretty but just tasted like alcohol, and the red wine was no better. Two drink orders were forgotten altogether. Food was very destroyed, there was an hour wait between the first and last meals at our table. When it finally came, it was just OK. We initially had planned on dessert, but decided to skip it and would not come back.
