I order my dad a whiting fish dinner through DoorDash. This fish was very hard! The breading wash falling off, it smelled loud and it looked like it had been fried then refried again. They didn’t send the peach cobbler we order either. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is the second time in the last couple of months we ordered a fish dinner from Angie’s Soul Cafe and it was not edible. Nor pleasing to the taste.

Soul food at its finest!! The catfish was perfectly cooked, moist and crispy. The chicken was very well seasoned. I love the atmosphere and music. The service was lively and entertaining. I tip to the max! Love every moment here.

Truly excellent soul food. I went out of my way to try Angie’s and was not disappointed. The staff is friendly and makes everything fresh, from scratch. Catfish was crisp, smothered chicken was tender. Sides were also very good: sweet yams were excellent, black eyed peas were perfectly cooked. I snagged the last peice of sweet potato pie, and it was among the best I have ever had.

This is a family run small business that somehow survived the pandemic. But after tasting their food, I am not really surprised. Definitely worth a try!

Mac and cheese is like noodles with clumps of cheese in it, cornbread was dry, the cabbage was a salty, but the chicken was okay. The best thing was… the BBQ Sauce. Maybe I went on a bad day, who knows. The customer service is great, and the atmosphere isn’t bad. My mac and cheese had a decent amount of burnt cheese in it, so it tasted burnt all around, plus it could be better. So we’re just out here making mac and cheese that SEPARATES from the noodles. I wouldn’t recommend the mac to anyone, to be honest. I’m not satisfied with this. I’ve been craving some good ol’ soul food for 2 weeks and said, “Hey. What not!?” Well, now I know. You should only eat here if you want to waste your money. I repeat: ONLY GO HERE IF YOU LIKE WASTING YOUR MONEY!!

Women’s & men’s bathroom gets a 10-. Food has plastic in it. Dined in & food was not hot. I would go back because the service was welcoming & mistake do happen. The eating area was clean & there was many customers coming to place orders which is always a good sign to me.

If I can give this a 0 I would .. I wasted my money here .. I got my food delivered, Mac and cheese, fish, dressing, and greens .. it was very disgusting to the point that I threw the whole tray away, the Greens was very salty, The fish seems like it was sitting out for a long time, The mac & cheese was literally smoosh and brown And The dressing was not dressing is was Boxed Stuffing I will not recommend this place to anyone. I couldn’t feed that’s food to my kids

We were excited about eating at Angie’s based on reviews. We waited 15 min for fresh fish and when we got it, it was fried sooo hard. The yams (some of them) were hard like they were not thoroughly cooked and the black eye peas had hardly any seasoning on it. The Mac and cheese was decent along with the greens. The peach cobbler was okay. Maybe this location (Carnegie) just isn’t as good as others?

Round 1, July 2021: Stopped by to get a 3 wing “snack pack”, some Mac n cheese, and some sweet potato pie to go. Everything tasted good and I will return.

The only caveat, and it is a minor one, is that it is a 100% cashless business. Many times, I don’t want to use my credit card or debit card for purchases.

Round 2, August 2021: ordered the chicken wing dinner this time. Got 5 whole wings that were fried crispy like my grandma used to. My two sides were the macaroni and cheese along with the cabbage. Everything tasted good and was reasonably priced. The chicken could’ve used more pronounced seasoning (perhaps a pinch more of seasoned salt), but was alright after applying hot sauce. The texture was just right crispy on the outside and juicy meat on the inside.

Pros:
* Clean restaurant with recently re-opened indoor seating area for patrons.
* Simplistic menu with prices listed. Any deviations or special rules are posted.
* Good food
* Plentiful parking
* Sturdy food packaging. They used microwave safe containers which do not buckle, bend, and leak like the styrofoam containers.
* Counter for ordering is separate from the window used to pick up. No need to ask “have you ordered yet?” Or “Are you in line?”

Cons:
* Not all the food is made to order. It would be somewhat nice to see the food.
* The patrons need to check and verify their food prior to leaving the store as indicated on the signs. I get why they have that rule, but…
