Pheasant Run has always been a place to go eat at with my family especially my grandparents Leon and Mary Wolf. Who unfortunately are no longer with us which makes it hard for us to go and eat at places that they ate at a lot. However, we overcame that today and went here and ate! The food was delicious my eyes were bigger than my head though! As my grandma would call it I need a “doggy bag” to take home the remainder! It was affordable and we had an amazing waitress who kept checking in on us every so often! They weren’t as busy as I thought they would be so it was nice to have an atmosphere that wasn’t to much chaos but enough noise around us to help us keep vibing! It was also not to expensive for two people to eat $22 is not bad if you think about it when you go to a fast food place it’s usually almost $30 depending upon what you get! So, that being said if your new to hays cause of college, or just here visiting, or you lived here your entire life and haven’t checked this place out?!?! Your missing out and you need to at least try it and whose to say the one time you try it they have you hooked for 56+ years like my grandparents were!

Great home cooked breakfast, come if you’re hungry. Staff is amazing, makes you feel like you’re at the only customer there. I will go back. Best coffee ever, pleasant staff as well.

I was seated right away , they didn’t question my order , they made just the way I liked it and it was delicious , staff was very friendly , it was a little warm in there and it was cozy with a full house but I can’t complain , I even put a pin on the map to show where I came from

My fiance has wanted to try this breakfast joint for awhile and today was the day. We stopped in around 8am got seated quickly and ordered our food we both got the Scotty with pancakes mine with sausage and hers bacon. She got scrambled and I got over hard eggs. I must say it was excellent the eggs and hash browns were well seasoned the pancakes were fluffy and covered in butter and the syrup was hot. The service was good the waitress didn’t bother us a lot which I like we were able to enjoy our food in peace all in all 5 stars we will be back

The food was pretty bland and terrible. The eggs Benedict is called an aristocrat and is priced around $12. I ordered this and it came with a grany packet cheese sauce. The eggs were hard boiled. Not runny. When I took one bite, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to pretend it was decent. I asked the waitress to please take it back and sub for 2 fried eggs. She didnt know what a fried egg was. Once I recieved my eggs hard and rubbery as they were, I managed to eat most of them. The waitress came by after with the check and said she wasn’t going to charge for my eggs. I thought she wasn’t charging for the Benedict style. But, no. She meant the eggs I asked for after. Instead she expected me to pay $12 whopping dollars for terrible food I didn’t eat. I asked her to remove the food I didn’t eat and charge me for the eggs. She then argued with me about well what was it you didnt like about them and when I told her that they tasted terrible, theres not a hollandaise sauce, that sauce was grainy and I didn’t even know what it was, and that my eggs were hard boiled, and I’m don’t feel comfortable paying for food I didn’t eat, she said fine and walked away. I wouldn’t recommend.

Fantastic breakfast. The GERMAN BREAKFAST SAUSAGE was amazing. A special treat outside the normal bacon, sausage, ham option. The HOME MADE sausage gravy was excellent as well. 100 times better than the canned version most diners serve these days. Deserves more than 4.4 stars!

Came here the first time and it was okay. Ordered a chocolate milk and it never came out. Finally told the waitress and she brought back an apple juice. By that point i was annoyed and the meal was almost over anyways so i didn’t drink any. Fast forward a few months and I decide to come back. Girlfriend ordered a toast and it never came with any jelly. By the time we got the waiters attention she realized her mistake and brought out jelly. Same waitress as the first time. Very annoying. Ordered chicken fried steak and it was okay the first time i ate it. Second time it came out like this. (See picture) We notified the waitress about it and she did nothing. We go up to pay and tell them that the steak was under cooked and she still didn’t do anything. I wasn’t expecting a free meal but maybe an apology or let the cooks know or a discount? Nope. Nothing. Didn’t leave a tip. Won’t be going back.

Those with Trailers, RVs or moving trucks the parking lot is small with no good place to turn around. The parking lot next door is available granted that it’s the weekend.
As mentioned the Country Fried Steak was not all that good. The eggs are sliced, different. Pancakes are good!!
