It started off rough. We walked in right after another gentleman by himself about an hour after they opened. The place was empty with no staff in sight. We waited about 8 minutes before someone showed up to seat us. Shannon was the one who seated and served us. From that point on, it was smooth sailing. The food was great. The service exceptional. Multiple other groups showed up and from what I could tell, it was Shannon and a guy in the kitchen, and they took care of everyone quickly.

Classic Italian fare served family style in multiple serving platters and bowls. The food is delicious. The decor in the restaurant is an eclectic mix of very unusual and often humorous art. The serving staff is friendly. This is not a polished enough operation to rate five stars. The facility is showing it’s age. I would come here again.

My first time here. The place is truly amazing with all the photographs covering every inch of the place. Clean restrooms. Staff were great. But then the food was extremely disappointing. I went with few friends who had already visited this restaurant and had spoken highly about. If you order large that would easily serve 5-6 persons. Also, small can serve 2-4. However, the food dint taste good. The bread served was super dry and stiff. The chicken wings tasted weird they were kind off slimy inside. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Ryan our wait staff was training Vito. The recommendation for entrees was great, family style eating. We had stuffed chicken breast with prosciutto, lasagna and garlic bread with cheese. Everything was perfect. Good food with friends a recipe for wonderful meal. The pictures are part of the atmosphere. Really interesting

In from away, I called to place an order from an online menu that was out of date, the gentleman on the phone was pleasant and quite patient about my allergies and was able to suggest a dish that was amazing! I had my heart set on the apple gorgonzola salad and it was so good.

Recently had a family birthday celebration here,service was outstanding, atmosphere was great, food I’d be honest a say it wasn’t as expected, meatballs were very very bland no flavor at all,baked ziti was ok,and my favorite eggplant was overcooked and edges were too crispy but still edible, sadly it was the waitress that made the experience overall worth enjoying. I hope next time the food is better I apologize for this honest review if it offends anyone.

Overall the experience was nice, the staff is exceptional in answering your questions and taking care of your needs. I will admit.I am not the person to give a good review on the food portion due to the fact my wife is Italian and cooks beyond what most restaurants serve. This place is for the atmosphere and the fact it is based on family style portions. It is a popular place with the locals and in that level the food ranks high as for portion and taste.

I have been trying to get a response for over 2 weeks now on this matter, through multiple forms of contact and have gotten nowhere. I ordered from the Colonie location 2 weeks ago, for take out. One of the orders I placed was for the small appetizer calamari and what was in the container would not be enough for 1 person, let alone 3. Extremely disappointed for $17 and a family size portion. It equated to about a fistful of food, not worth the price at all. Everything else in the order was delicious and I always recommend eating here, but this was an extreme let down for price and quantity of “family style”.
