Always great food! Portions are great. Salads are always very fresh. My favorite is eggplant parmigiana & Greek salad and carrot cake.

A good diner in the area with an extensive menu, good diner food, great service, typical diner atmosphere though Route 40 diner has a nice vibe and is clean with what appears to be new seating booths. Bathroom could be a bit updated and a tad cleaner ( though in better shape than many). And being located in a strip mall has ample and good parking. Prices are very reasonable. Overall… definitely a good place for a meal, especially if you are on the run and just want a place to sit relax and have a quick bite to eat. ( Or based on other patrons we saw…a place to meet up with friends over lunch and catch up etc).

This is a very nice diner. I get breakfast here and it is good. The staff is great.
The MAIN reason to go here is to make a pilgrimage to see the Kenny Rogers Roasters mural they still have up!
This location used to be a Kenny Rogers Roasters in the before times and they were smart enough to keep this mural!

I got FOOD POSIONING from here because they served us UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN WINGS.
We ordered chicken wings and split it. 2 out of the 10 were undercooked. We brought it to our waitresses attention (the owner’s wife), she quickly snatched it and condescendingly asked us if we wanted another chicken wing. She then proceeds to talk bad about us to the other waitresses right in front of us. Another waitress that wasnt even our own, approaches us, and then proceeds to shove her phone to my face to show me what Google AI said about the chicken bone having blood discolorling is completely normal. The chicken bone was red and the meat closer to the bone was slimey. The owner comped us for the chicken wings after my partner complained. I showed the owner the second wing I found and he angrily snatched it away from me saying that the chicken is fine and that it wasnt even bloody (thankfully I was able to take a picture of it). When I questioned him about it he said that they get those chicken wings “pre-cooked and they just heat it up” and that “all the wings were from the same batch”. I asked him if that was the case then how come 2 out of the 10 chicken wings we had were undercooked. He dismissed my concerns and said that he has “been in buisness for 15 years” and that “they know how to cook wings”. We still paid for the rest of our meal. As were walking out our waitress was staring us down as if we stole.
We have come to this diner countless number of times in the past and the wings were not like that. We have eaten wings from other resturants and they have never looked like that.
This diner just purchases frozen food, resells it for a way marked up price, and can’t even be bothered to check if the food has been cooked thoroughly. I have been vomitting and have other symptoms of food posioning from eating those wings.
Route40 diner takes zero accountability for their actions and will treat recurring customers badly when they are called out on it. I do not reccomend eating here if you care about your health and safety.

Every time I visit Route 40 Diner. I’m treated like family, the staff from Owners, Management, and Servers make you feel at home enjoy a meal with loved ones. I highly recommend you to visit and enjoy a home cooked meal at good price.

If you like the classic diner feeling and delicious food and great service, this is the place for you. Everything on the menu that I’ve tried is delicious. The breakfast, lunch and dinner options are so vast and everything is really good. They have freshly made desserts too that are absolutely delicious that you must try before leaving. Everyone is so nice to my kids too. I really think this is a good family restaurant. Highly recommend!

Strong bleach smell while eating. They took pride in how clean the place was. Ordered panini. It was dried corned beef with excessive mustard 1 slice of cheese, between 2 pita’s. Definitely not a panini. 40 diner club special was layered with thick cuts (3/16″)of processed meats and the roast beef was all dark brown. Very disappointing experience.Brought what we didnt eat home for the wild animals out back

First time here was in the area wanted food so I got seated right away the man who seated me ask me if I want a booth or table I said it didn’t matter so he seated me to a table of eight they were busy I said can I get a booth he said it’s going to be a wait I said I will just sit here the waitress came over ask me if I was ready to order I just sat down haven’t even looked at the menu yet I said I needed a few minutes told her my drink order got that from someone else she was taking a phone order which was fine I waited a few minutes for her to come back she took my order waited a few more minutes got my order but never saw my waitress again she had a couple tables besides me there was this one table in front of me that she went over to ask if they needed anything that was after she walked right past me and didn’t say anything to me I guess if u aren’t a regular or a table of two u don’t get good service I get this all the time so I am use to it then she had a couple tables food and put the tray right on the table I was sitting at which was fine still once again didn’t ask me if I needed anything or how was anything I waited a few minutes to get my check i finally adk her before she took another tables order for my check so I could leave would come back for the food the service if u aren’t a regular or a table of more then one the service is minimal

I ordered eggs benedict and the poached eggs were over cooked and had zero runny yolk in them, the hollandise tasted like straight eggs rather then lemony and buttery, and the muffin was very soggy and the texture was as if it was old. I was not impressed at all. I eat here often and this was a total let down as its one of my favorite dishes. Won’t be eating here again. Highly disappointing. I threw away the entire dish. How can you serve food like this? I would like to be refunded for this. Purchased on 4/23/25 around 7am

Came for breakfast and glad we did. Good food, good service and the prices were way less than waffle house or iHOP.
