Martha the manager was extremely kind and personable. I sat at the bar because I like to look around at the people and the employees both look extremely happy..it’s a good look for a restaurant when your employees work hard, enjoy doing it and look quite happy..I work and have always worked in restaurants. It’s hard to find good employees and happy ones, but you’ll find both here.. perhaps Martha’s hard work is contagious..not only was she friendly she also kept cleaning, making drinks and helping everyone.. from personal experience, when the boss works hard, it’s difficult to not want to follow suit.
Gina was my server/bartender and was great at her job..fast, friendly and efficient..also, I’m not surprised she’s also a hard worker, she continuously found something to do..
I loved everything about my shrimp tacos. I’ve been trying “top rated” Pgh taco places for shrimp tacos and what some say is a 5 star, no. Stay away from what others say is amazing for shrimp.
This place 100% 5 stars and I can’t wait to go back. It’s that typical and delicious MEXICAN taste.
The Chipotle sauce was amazing.
The slaw in the taco was outstanding.
I have no complaints.
Inside the restaurant was so beautiful and clean. Those rich warm colors. Friendly staff.
So far, my favorite place for a shrimp taco!!! I can’t wait to come back.
Salsa was great, I actually used a little on my entree.
Had a mango margarita with corona, it was brilliant…sweet, slightly carbonated, and perfectly refreshing.
My son had the peach smoothie, child with a ball of ice at the bottom – again, the drink was refreshing and sweet.
My son and I had the original chimichangas and they were fantastic – and a great portion. We actually saved a little, so it will make lunch for each of us. Beans and beef were the main filling, I did get a little grizzle, but nothing to complain about. The queso blanco sauce on top just elevated the deep fried dish – slightly sweet, definitely adds to the dish. Came with a side of Mexican rice, flavorful and a great accompaniment.
The dish also came with a Mexican side salad (lettuce, green peppers, diced tomato, cilantro, cheese, sour cream..), I had some but not much – I would maybe see if they could switch for refried beans, which I didn’t see as an option on the dishes I looked at, strange.
The price was fair in the current climate, especially because you are paying for traditional Mexican – comparing it to condando, this is better (I always want to toast my food from condando)
The food here is incredible. Simple items are made with quality ingredients that pack a lot of flavor, and the more staple entres and menu items are both as unique as they are delicious.
Out of everything I tried, I was very happy. Whether you’re looking for a simple plate full of tacos, or you want a fully developed meal from one of their mainline menu items, you won’t be disappointed.
Small hint: Enchiladas Classico with the side of black beans is excellent, even better if you get something else that comes with the rice.
Also the quesadillas are the bomb.
