I love fajitas and have been to most of the Mexican restaurants in the city and so far Emilanos has the best. There’s no need for me to try and other restaurants, when you find the best you stop looking.
Martha the manager was extremely kind and personable. I sat at the bar because I like to look around at the people and the employees both look extremely happy..it’s a good look for a restaurant when your employees work hard, enjoy doing it and look quite happy..I work and have always worked in restaurants. It’s hard to find good employees and happy ones, but you’ll find both here.. perhaps Martha’s hard work is contagious..not only was she friendly she also kept cleaning, making drinks and helping everyone.. from personal experience, when the boss works hard, it’s difficult to not want to follow suit.
Gina was my server/bartender and was great at her job..fast, friendly and efficient..also, I’m not surprised she’s also a hard worker, she continuously found something to do..

The service was slow to start but our server was very polite and able to describe everything. The enchiladas were delicious. The chicken enchiladas were soft and tender. She even split up our Mexican fried ice cream when I asked for only half chocolate and half honey. How sweet !!

As someone who’s recovering from eating disorders, food is new to me. And I’m extremely picky and honest.

I loved everything about my shrimp tacos. I’ve been trying “top rated” Pgh taco places for shrimp tacos and what some say is a 5 star, no. Stay away from what others say is amazing for shrimp.

This place 100% 5 stars and I can’t wait to go back. It’s that typical and delicious MEXICAN taste.
The Chipotle sauce was amazing.
The slaw in the taco was outstanding.
I have no complaints.

Inside the restaurant was so beautiful and clean. Those rich warm colors. Friendly staff.

So far, my favorite place for a shrimp taco!!! I can’t wait to come back.

Good food and fast service. We arrive around 4 PM on a Tuesday and it was mostly empty. We left around 630 PM and it filled in. The food was hot, fresh and arrived at the table in record time. The waiter was very nice but we felt very rushed by him. We had just been seated and he asked if we were ready to order. We both had a drink with our meals and the total bill was very reasonable. The atmosphere was nice and the noise level was low. Chips and salsa were free. Good place for friends and family to have a meal. We will go back!

The menu has changed. If the salsa isn’t good there’s no hope! I ordered the shrimp tacos and I was really disappointed at the mayonnaise slaw all over the fried shrimp. The manager explained that I need to read the menu better and was aggressive. I’m really bummed because this was our go- to for Mexican. They have made poor menu changes. The waiter was a sweetie

We always love coming here! The drinks are a bit pricy, but if you get a shakarita you get a few refills and they have awesome seasonal drinks. I love the ceviche and skillet steaks are amazing. Service is always great too, this is fantastic place to grab dinner.

We ordered the Mia’s appetizer to share there was 3 of us, they never gave us any plates I had to ask for them. My husband’s rice that came with his meal was watery. I ordered the Texano I asked for extra sauce (they charge extra for it). When the meal came out it was also watery, some chicken was tuff, and had no taste. I told the waitress about it she did ask if I wanted something else, I told her no, she said what did I want her to do about it (she should have just taken it off of our bill), since we were being charged I took it home. None of us were impressed with our meals.

Servers were very attentive, lots of chips and salsa while we waited. Drinks were prompt.

Salsa was great, I actually used a little on my entree.

Had a mango margarita with corona, it was brilliant…sweet, slightly carbonated, and perfectly refreshing.

My son had the peach smoothie, child with a ball of ice at the bottom – again, the drink was refreshing and sweet.

My son and I had the original chimichangas and they were fantastic – and a great portion. We actually saved a little, so it will make lunch for each of us. Beans and beef were the main filling, I did get a little grizzle, but nothing to complain about. The queso blanco sauce on top just elevated the deep fried dish – slightly sweet, definitely adds to the dish. Came with a side of Mexican rice, flavorful and a great accompaniment.

The dish also came with a Mexican side salad (lettuce, green peppers, diced tomato, cilantro, cheese, sour cream..), I had some but not much – I would maybe see if they could switch for refried beans, which I didn’t see as an option on the dishes I looked at, strange.

The price was fair in the current climate, especially because you are paying for traditional Mexican – comparing it to condando, this is better (I always want to toast my food from condando)

A hidden gem. I pass this place on my commute home as I go through a few neighborhoods. Never had a chance to really sit down and eat, though I made time during a recent outing. That decision was immensely worth it.

The food here is incredible. Simple items are made with quality ingredients that pack a lot of flavor, and the more staple entres and menu items are both as unique as they are delicious.

Out of everything I tried, I was very happy. Whether you’re looking for a simple plate full of tacos, or you want a fully developed meal from one of their mainline menu items, you won’t be disappointed.

Small hint: Enchiladas Classico with the side of black beans is excellent, even better if you get something else that comes with the rice.

Also the quesadillas are the bomb.
