The food used to be amazing. It’s always been a little expensive but worth the splurge.
When we went in last night, the menu has changed, the prices got even more expensive and the food was mediocre (at best)
Our waiter definitely did not seem in the mood to be serving. I had to ask for everything from a glass of water I had to ask for the bread ( that used to be amazing, but it came out hard and cold ) I had to ask for silverware I had to ask for a dessert fork I had to ask For to go container I had to ask for the bag I had to ask for literally everything. like it was no initiative or check back to see if we needed anything. And literally there was only two other tables.
Our check was $130 and we had three appetizers and one entrée and one dessert.
$21 for three meatballs.
I completely understand inflation I completely understand that prices have to go up at some point. But when you jack up the price, reduce the size of the menu, and throw customer service in the garbage. It is not a good business motto.
We’ve been loyal customers of La Villa for a while, but after our latest experience, we won’t be returning. My wife ordered for delivery a grandma pie, a large Caesar salad, and a small one. Total? $60. Unfortunately, upon opening the large salad, she found a bug right on top. She was disgusted and lost her appetite immediately.
I called the manager to inform her of the situation, hoping they’d take responsibility and issue a full refund. Instead, she insisted that bugs can occasionally “make it through” in lettuce and would only refund the salad. I explained that finding a bug in our food was not acceptable, especially for the price we paid, and requested a full refund since the experience was thoroughly ruined.
To my shock, the manager argued that there was “no reason” to refund the pizza because the sauce is acidic and a bug “wouldn’t survive in it.” She even went as far as to accuse me of trying to “scam” them out of the $60! When I asked to speak with the owner, Frank, she refused and claimed he would agree with her stance. Throughout the call, she was rude, confrontational, and dismissive of our concerns.
If you’re thinking of ordering from La Villa, beware. The management seems to have lost both quality control and respect for their customers. I expected at least an apology or an offer to make things right, but instead was met with hostility. It’s a shame to see a once-great spot lose its standards. I’d suggest supporting businesses that actually value their customers.
