This neighborhood bar is a true gem. The drinks are expertly made, the food goes way beyond typical bar fare, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. We had an order of their homemade chicken tortilla soup, a lobster roll and the Caesar salad. It was all excellent but that Caesar salad I’ve been thinking about for two days. I dont know why but it was delightful. We also had the Mac and cheese which is always excellent here.

What really stands out is the service, friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!

Was our first visit to The Place. What an amazing evening. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Lately its been difficult to find good food or good service. This was an outstanding delightful experience! My wife had the Harvest Salad with Chicken. And I had the Banana Pepper Pasta with Chicken. We also had 2 Tom and Jerry’s each. Delicious.

I chose this restaurant and made reservations online because we are in Buffalo visiting our daughter who has celiac disease. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s so clean and has such a great ” Cheers” kind of vibe to it. Most of the options on the menu can be made gluten free but always confirm with your server to be sure. Our server Michelle was very knowledgeable, attentive & super sweet. We ordered the gluten free mac & cheese, The banana pepper dip with gluten free garlic parmesan crostini with house chorizo sausage, Gluten free Chicken cordon blue sandwhich with a side salad, buffalo chicken wings( these were not gluten free) and a cesar salad. Everything was delicious. They have a huge bar, plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio. We will definitely be back.

I love The Place! I have eaten here several times. My favorite thing to order is the poached pear salad. I will always grab a Tom and Jerry’s when it’s in season too. The last time I was there, I ordered the risotto. It was good, but kind of boring as a main dish. I wish they had more vegetarian options. We sat on the porch, directly under the heater. It got wayy too hot for me. The previous times I’ve visited, we sat inside. The decor is cozy and old money chic. It’s always crowded, and usually very loud. The servers deal with the high volume of customers and orders like pros. They are friendly and efficient. I would recommend The Place for coworkers to meet for happy hour or if you’re visiting from out of town and are looking for a nice dinner.

This place is a true Buffalo staple. The mac & cheese came out bubbling hot in a cast iron skillet creamy, rich and exactly the kind of comfort food that hits after a long day. I paired it with their French Blonde cocktail, which was light, citrusy and perfectly balanced. You can tell they care about quality here, from the drinks to the atmosphere. A cozy neighborhood gem worth coming back to every time I’m in town!

Great dining experience! The lobster roll was good, large chunks of lobster with a grilled bun. The espresso martini was good, not The best I’ve had, but good. Staff we encountered we nice, polite and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was quite nice. Very busy when we were there, but you can still hear the music. Very happy customer, thank you!

This was our first visit to The Place and we left knowing we’ll be back! The staff was friendly and our waitress McKenna was the best! The crab cakes were surprisingly delicious and I’m already craving more! The mussels were alright, maybe a little overdone. The lobster roll was great and the roll was amazing and buttery! The salmon was cooked perfectly and so tasty but the risotto it came with was missing something…
I definitely recommend and can’t wait to try more.

We stopped in a little after 9 on this past Saturday night. The hostess seemed bothered that she had to look up from her phone when my wife and I walked in. The server had a reaction of disappointment when we ordered waters to drink. We shared the crab cakes and they were good, a little akinpy w the accompanying sauce and overloaded w the veggies. I had the lobster roll w the crispy potatoes w onion and peper relish. The lobster roll was quite small for the $35 price tag and the cripsy potato side was ok but each bite was inconsistent w the crispyness. My wife had the chx sand and it was unremarkable. My water glass remained empty for a while each time I had emptied it. The server was not friendly, never gave her name, welcomed us or was warm at all. Disappointing. Would not go back.
