An island staple for sure. Since they have upgraded from pen and paper to a modern pos system the tacos seem to come out lightning quick!

Pretty good and cheap tacos. They are tasty and the chili oil table condiment on the side is great to put onto your taco. Bit on the greasy side but worth checking out

Taqueria El Pique offers a very average taco experience, one that is not bad but far from memorable. Tacos are simple in concept but demanding in execution, and everything depends on three key elements the tortilla, the filling, and the salsa. Here, only one of those truly stands out. The green raw salsa is the highlight and honestly the only thing that saves the tacos. It has good heat, freshness, and character, and it adds life to what would otherwise be very flat flavors.

The meats are unfortunately bland across the board. The al pastor lacks the depth and seasoning you expect, the suadero is equally forgettable, and the chorizo feels oddly heavy while still being flavorless, which is surprising for a cut that should be bold and aromatic. The tortillas are another weak point. They are simply heated without any fat, and the absence of proper nixtamal flavor is very noticeable. For a Mexican taqueria, this is a big miss.

Service is good, with a waiter who was fast, polite, and attentive. The ambiance is fine, nothing uncomfortable, but nothing that adds to the experience either. Overall, Taqueria El Pique delivers a bland and unremarkable meal. Not terrible, not good, just okay.

This taqueria was recommended by the locals. My hubby scuba dives in Cozumel often but doesn’t explore many of the restaurants. I’m 1st generation Mexican American so I know my authentic Mexican food. These are the tacos you want. I haven’t tried their Gringa Pique but our local friends raved about the Alpastor Gringa Pique which is like a pizza. Anyhoo… not sure if I’ll try it bc I’m just hooked on their guac n tacos. We’ve been here about 10 days and already eaten here twice. I’m pretty sure we’ll be here a couple more times before we leave and this place will be one of our favs!!! Oh, and you can’t beat the price. Hubby and I each get 2 tacos and share a plate of guac n chips, we give a generous 20% tip and it’s still less than $20 USD, great place all around!!! Try it, you’ll be glad you did!!!

We were recommended to this great little place by our cab driver on our first night in Cozumel. Eat with the locals and try the different flavours. We highly recommend the tacos pastor.

We had a kind waiter that found something vegetarian for me, even if the menu didn’t have a lot of veggy options. I had the mushroom quesadillas and a veggy taco with onion, bell pepper and mushrooms.
We could sit in a garden in the back of the restaurant where it was much quieter than near the street. The price was amazing! Will come back

Really good and authentic Mexican Street Tacos. They also have other options. There is a garden in the back. Fast service and great value.

Absolutely delicious little taco joint — the fastest service I’ve ever seen (had my meal within minutes of ordering) & so cheap (30-45mxn per taco) — less than 10usd for 4 tacos & a drink

These tacos are delicious. Straight-up authentic flavors, no shortcuts, no frills.

Some reviews mentioned slower service, but after eating here it’s obvious it isn’t because of the kitchen. The menu is literally painted on the wall, simple as hell, and somehow still too much for the gringos on their first international vacation to process.

Worth the wait. Worth every bite. I’ll be back.

So glad we went here. Only regret is not coming sooner! Great tacos. Our Dive Instructor recommended the Chuleta con queso and they were great! The Arranchera tacos were really good too!
