Mannnn, idk what it is about this new generation of employees, but they’re going to cost businesses a lot of money.

We came in during happy hour and were sat immediately. Wasn’t busy at all. But after about 15-20 minutes of waiting we had to ask the hostess for a waiter/waitress. No drink orders or nothing, just waiting.

Finally the waitresses comes & with about as little enthusiasm as you can imagine, she takes our order. I’m not saying be animated, but maybe show SOME delight in your job.

About 10 minutes after that we get the appetizer. 15 MORE minutes after THAT we get our food. We asked for well-done steak, it’s undercooked. Now after another 10 minutes of recooking, we’re able to eat.

A quick happy hour trip turned into about a 2 hour session, with majority of the time waiting.

When it was time to pay, though that check came out immediately…

I get being short staffed, but maybe encourage leadership to step in and help out when others aren’t willing to. Maybe provide some coaching on customer service and presentation.

Night service is the worst service went Friday night, January 30 and it was the worst service ever from the time we walk through the door to the time we left it was horrible the young man at the door he was horrible. He told us we could sit at the bar until a table is ready we said ok but, I told him we still wanted a table so he said he would let us know but he didn’t and gave the next table to someone else who came in after us. I still had to ask him two more times for a table and told him if we didn’t get a table soon I would talk to the manager,
he got an attitude and cursed under his breath. He didn’t think I heard him but, I did he then took us to a table I asked him if he would have our drinks from the bar sent over when they are ready and he got a attitude about that now at this point we already been at the bar for sometime and the bar tender still have not made our drinks and act like she didn’t know how. Now I can hear and see the young man talking to the manger because after I said I would talk to the manger he went to talk to him first to cover his butt. The manger looked in our direction and turn and walked back in the kitchen, but do you think he ever came over to us to ask us if everything was OK or ask us about our service nope he didn’t because he is just as bad as the workers they don’t care the waitress she was no better when she came with the drinks my glass was cracked so she took it back to get it redone and never returned with drink until my friend asked her about it by this time we are finished eating she never came back to the table to see if we were ok or needed anything else so we just paid her and left. Don’t go at night cause it’s totally different, night service sucks and they wasn’t busy enough to say that was the cause for the service being so terrible. I will never go back. If you go only go doing the day because I only went that night because I had been there with someone else on Monday doing the day and the service was great from the time we walked through the door until the time we left, the lady who seated us was also making drinks. She had the best attitude ever she always does, and the young man who served us had the best attitude really nice and the service was great. Great job day worker

Went for a lunch date and to try the flight. Server was pleasant, funny,and helpful. Food was hot and fresh. Drinks were ok, more ice than anything, heavy on the liquor and light on the syrup so the drink was ok for midday. This was like my 3rd time going to this particular location, and I’ll return if I’m ever in the area again.

We haven’t been to Applebees in a while so we decided to go dinner there Sunday. Everything was perfect. The bartender Lesley was great and very knowledgeable of the drinks and food. She was super nice and efficient. As you see the food looked appetizing and tasted even better. Even the broccoli was delicious! Thanks y’all, we’ll be back soon

On a hot Sunday morning, we decided to try Applebee’s as we haven’t been in quite some time. It was not busy so we were shown to a booth in the bar area. Marissa was friendly and attentive. We ordered the mozzarella sticks for appetizers which came out quickly. They were warm, definitely not hot and unfortunately had to walk around to find someone to get us silverware and plates. Chicken Sandwich plates were received exactly as ordered. We found the waffle fries were more flavorful than the regular fries. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly.

I came to this location last night because the Halls Ferry location near my home, service & food is always disappointing.
The service was prompt & pleasant, the restaurant atmosphere was quiet and welcoming & the food was made correct the first time & actually hot!!
I know that is suppose to be the norm but I appreciate that it was with no issues at this location!

My Sis made reservations for 9 when we got there we were told they were short staffed and we wouldn’t be able to sit together. That was worked out but when my food came there was a long hair in it and returned to the kitchen. The manager said that she would take some off the bill and replace the food. I waited no food came out. The waiter went back to tell the manager I was still waiting on my food the manager then comes out and says she took the money ( $3.00) off the bill but didn’t know I wanted my food. I told her I was confused and of course I wanted my food because the first platter was so delicious I just didn’t want hair in it. Needless to say when the food came back out it was in a to-go container as per requested since they were close to closing. It was burnt, hard and over seasoned yes shamefully I still attempted to eat it because I was so hungry and I really love the bourbon shrimp and chicken with Parmesan topping with a side of broccoli not to mention my shark bowl. I love Applebee’s and this is the only thing I eat when I go I was very disappointed but my disappointment was overshadowed by the joyous time I had sitting with my brother and sister and my niece and nephews it was a beautiful family time minus my horrible meal.

I decided to get half off appetizers at Applebee’s. The host was very polite. He said there was about a 15 to 30 minutes wait. I looked around, and there were plenty of seats. It wasn’t busy. But I understand if you are short staffed, it will be a wait. I said no problem. The place looked nice. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten there. He seated us, and he said something to my server, and she didn’t look too happy. She disappeared. Later, she came out of hiding and said something to the table next to ours. Later, I looked up, and she was gone. After a long wait, she came over and apologized for the long wait. She rushed us to take our order. That was fine. We knew what we wanted. She brought the drinks and appetizers. The drinks and food were great. I was done with my drink when the appetizer came. I wanted to order another drink. But she disappeared. After some time, I looked for her. She was nowhere to be found. I was purposely not finishing my food, waiting to order a different drink. Then I decided I was going to go ahead and eat and not get another drink. She is still nowhere to be found. I got a call. I needed to go to the emergency room.. I can’t find my server. I stood up looking for her. Eventually, she appeared. She went to the next table and then came to me with a bill. I said, “Don’t leave, I’m ready.” I paid the bill and had to wait even longer for my change. I would have given it to her for a heft tip, but I didn’t want to reward bad service. Not once did she check on us. She disappeared for long periods of time. Seeing that I was in a hurry to leave, she took an extended amount of time to return. I still gave her a tip even though she didn’t earn it. I would have given them a 5 star review it weren’t for the poor service that we received.

Our experience at this restaurant last night was shockingly unacceptable from beginning to end. Although the restaurant was not busy, we stood at the hostess stand for several minutes without any acknowledgement. When the manager finally approached, we were told to continue waiting because the server needed to wipe down tables. Once seated, it was immediately clear that even this basic task had not been completed properly. The table was still wet, and leftover food had simply been pushed onto the booth seating rather than cleaned.

When our waitress arrived, we ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our meals. Upon returning with our beverages, she held one of the cups with her hand wrapped around the mouth of the glass. She placed the drinks down without a word and walked away, providing no reassurance or basic hospitality. We sat for approximately 20 minutes without any update, acknowledgment, or check-in. Only when she happened to make eye contact did she realize our appetizer had never been brought out.

When the spinach artichoke dip finally arrived, the chips were excessively greasy, and the dip itself was flavorless with a visibly burned top. Unfortunately, the entrée experience was even worse. The food initially appeared presentable, but the very first bite revealed a stringy, worm-like substance that was completely unacceptable and immediately ruined the meal. The mashed potatoes were hard, lacked any flavor, and appeared old, as if they had been sitting for an extended period. My green beans were forgotten entirely until I reminded the server, at which point I had already decided I could not continue eating.

I informed the waitress that the food was unacceptable, and she responded with a dismissive expression and walked away without offering a solution, an apology, or the option to speak with a manager. I ultimately had to ask another employee for a manager; however, she simply walked off and never returned. I later observed her casually socializing at the bar instead of following through. When the manager eventually came to the table—after a considerable wait and despite previously being at the front of the restaurant—her response was indifferent and lacked any urgency or genuine concern.

The atmosphere throughout the restaurant was equally disappointing. The staff appeared disengaged, unmotivated, and uninterested in providing even minimal customer service. Nothing about the experience reflected a welcoming “neighborhood bar and grill.” Instead, it felt like a team going through the motions without pride, professionalism, or accountability.

When I explained to the manager that the food was inedible, she stated only, “I’ll take it off,” yet we still ended up paying over $30 for a two-for-$25 meal we could not eat. Between the poor service, unacceptable food quality, and lack of cleanliness, this was by far the worst dining experience we have ever had.

I will not be returning to this Applebee’s, and I strongly advise others to avoid the location on St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton. This establishment needs immediate retraining, oversight, and leadership intervention. Until significant changes are made, it should not be recommended to anyone.
