After trying many average Indian restaurants, I finally decided to give this place a shot –
and WOW! The tandoori chicken is hands down the best I’ve had. It’s incredibly flavorful, perfectly tender, and has absolutely no gamey smell. The masala is delicious, and its consistency has been spot-on every single time over the past six months.

This is a takeout-only spot, but the food is packed with flavor and never disappoints. Highly recommend, and thank you for consistently amazing food!

This used to be my go-to spot for Indian takeout when I lived in the area. The food was consistently rich, well-spiced, and deeply comforting — the kind of place you could count on when you were craving real flavor. The curries had depth, the portions were generous, and everything tasted like it was made with care rather than rushed out the door.

I’ve since moved to Connecticut, and I’m realizing that finding truly good Indian food here might be more of a challenge. A lot of places tend to tone down the spice and complexity to suit a broader American palate, and it just doesn’t hit the same. Being spoiled by spots like this makes you appreciate what authentic, bold Indian cooking actually tastes like.

Definitely a place I miss and would happily order from again.

Update:2025 Nov: Ordered many times, good, large portions, goes in like home cooked meal. Special mention now to NY Chicken platter which is the clear winner on lunch time on taste and quantity. Ordered Bihari Kebabs, Tikka Masalas and lamb dishes needs mention.
*** On weekends, there are special dishes available which are not advertised in the menu.

2025 Aug: Take out, no frills, good food lovers paradise. Ask for unadvertised specials…

Delicious food at reasonable price. Its only a take out place. Everything is delicious. They are open 6 days a week and Tuesdays they are closed.

We ordered takeout for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. I called ahead at lunch time and asked to pick up when they opened again at 5 and it was ready when we arrived! It came with plenty of basmati rice (one container per dish) which we find not all places do, so we appreciated it. We got – baingan bharta, veg kolhapuri, chana saag and chicken saagwala. All were absolutely delicious – the only criticism we all had was it was a tad too salty for our liking, but still amazing. – @souper_foodie

Food tastes ok BUT the bhindi masala I ordered contain top and bottom of Bhindi and behaved like drum Sticks . You have to chew and spit. Just like drumsticks. That suggests these people don’t care quality of the food and customers but profit and use low quality old ingredients .

I don’t eat Indian food often only because I’m not familiar with the dishes. This place has changed everything. I will be going back and trying things I’ve never tried. The butter chicken was exceptional. The naan was so fluffy and complimented the butter chicken perfectly. Five stars must try restaurant.

Delhi Garden Indian Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with its authentic and flavorful Indian dishes. The food is undoubtedly the highlight of this establishment, with a rich variety of curries, biryanis, tandoori specialties, and vegetarian options that cater to diverse palates. Each dish is prepared with care, showcasing the vibrant spices and traditional cooking techniques that make Indian cuisine so beloved. If you’re a fan of bold flavors and hearty meals, the food here will not disappoint.

However, the dining experience at Delhi Garden is significantly marred by its poor service and operational inefficiencies. The waiting times are excessively long, even during non-peak hours, which can be frustrating for customers. The restaurant appears to be consistently understaffed, leading to delays in taking orders, serving food, and addressing customer requests. This lack of attention and efficiency detracts from what could otherwise be a memorable meal.

Additionally, the parking situation is a major inconvenience. The parking area is extremely congested, making it difficult to find a spot, especially during busy times. This adds unnecessary stress to the overall experience and may deter potential customers from visiting.

In summary, while Delhi Garden excels in its culinary offerings, the poor service, prolonged waiting times, and inadequate parking facilities make it a less-than-ideal dining destination. If the management can address these operational issues, this restaurant has the potential to be a standout choice for Indian cuisine lovers. Until then, be prepared for great food but a frustrating overall experience.

I had ordered Bihari kabab for take out for the thanksgiving weekend . The smell of the kabab was so inviting that we ended up eating it in the parking lot behind the restaurant. Never eaten such yummy kebabs in New Jersey. It was soft , tender , juicy and just melting in your mouth . THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO EAT KABABS ….it beats all the restaurants in tri-state which has kabab in their names ! Highly recommend this place ….

Ordered simple mix veg and dhaba chicken. Dhaba chicken was not worth the taste, it wasn’t even a true chicken curry. Felt like a generic dish. Over all food quality was fine but the taste wasn’t anything worth remembering. Several years back their food was really nice but we went there after many years and were disappointed.
