Typical family restaurant food, at above average prices. The water was absolutely disgusting. I’ve never not finished a glass of water at a restaurant. Service was just blah. They seemed more annoyed we were there, especially as it became closer to closing time at 2pm. The adult busboy made stops at our table every coupl of minutes starting at 1:30 to try to clear plates that still had food on it that people were clearly eating from. At 1:40, when we didn’t give up a plate, he said “You know we close soon” in a stern tone. He went away and then began setting up the vacuum in the area we were in. Another employee was already mopping the floors, so as we left at 1:50, we were told multiple times to be careful as the floor was slippery. Seriously? You couldn’t wait to clean until the customers are gone. Likely won’t be back, but most definitely not anywhere near closing time.

I had already posted two pictures from my last couple visits, but I didn’t officially write my review. I must say, I wish I could go there right now but my kids are under the weather. This place feels like home. From the start we had a lovely waitress who did not rush me when I was so indecisive because the menu has SOO many delicious options… Her service was amazing. I forgot her name but she wore glasses. There was this gentleman, I think his name was Val? I wanted to give him a special shout out because he literally kept coming with the coffee so it stayed full and warm the entire visit. And then the food itself has been perfect every time, fresh and flavorful and served pretty quickly. No complaints whatsoever. My favorite has been the corned beef and cabbage! So I apologize for the duplicate pics. It was a huge portion that tasted even better when I devoured my leftovers the following day. I can’t wait to go back, and soon to bring the kids with me as well ! It’s the perfect family restaurant. I haven’t had dinner there yet but I’m confident it would not disappoint ❤️

Service is incredibly fast, but still friendly. Honestly… they might fill your coffee before you even sit down! It’s probably because so many staff members have been at this locally-owned favorite for years. The food isn’t fancy, but if you enjoy good portions of breakfast classics at a reasonable cost, then this is your place.

We went to Edward’s Apple Orchard and then wanted to find a place to grab breakfast. We searched Google and Boone County Family Restaurant came up. We decided to give it a try and it was really good! They had a very good breakfast selection and the staff was super nice. We will be back!!!

In area of Caledonia at the intersection of 64 and 173 in Illinois you see Boone County Family Restuarant. This business is 43yrs. old! Taken over by Nick from his father, Outstanding customer service and the cleanest Restuarant I’ve ever been to!! You are greeted with a smile and an energetic “Hello” from Amy,Jackie etc. The food is prepared to perfection and treat yourself to a variety of pies and cream pies. Forget all the other fast food places, Boone County Family Restuarant is a must for your next dinning experience!! Highly recommend!!! You are awesome Nick, wait staff,bussers and cooks!

My wife and I went there for breakfast, well we tried. We were seated, got our water and that was it. Ten minutes later, a server said she didn’t know if we were her table or not, twice. Then she went and got drinks for two other tables next to us, and we waited more than another 5 minutes, then I said to the wife we are out of here, so I told the guy that seated us if they didn’t want to serve us, we were out of there. I will NEVER go back to that place and will make sure to tell everybody I know what kind of place it is.

This diner has fantastic food, very good quality ingredients for a great price. We had the Reuben and Monte Cristo, with soup, fries and iced tea. The Reuben was to die for, amazing corned beef and great kraut. Would recommend to anyone else passing through.

Went on fish fry night I got fried cod and my husband got baked cod. With the dinners you get soup or salad we had salad. You get their vegetable and either a potato or pasta. I got spagettii my husband got a baked potato. And you also get pudding or ice cream. Hubby got butter pecan and I got strawberry everything was very delicious. Can’t wait to go back to try more things
