I’ve been wanting to try El Basha for a long time. I got the El Basha Special Platter with lentil soup. The soup was really good. I really enjoyed the flavors. My complaint though is with the main dish. There was some kind of sauce (tzatziki I think) on top of the meat as well as some kind of cole slaw that I did not want, and in general just too much vegetable garnish that’s hard to eat around. Now, in retrospect I should have sent it back right away; I tried to mitigate it as much as I could. By the time I decided I really should have sent it back, i’d picked at it too much and I didn’t want to be “that person.” I felt like this would have been an amazing dish if I didn’t have to clean up sauce and eat around coleslaw. I really wish this was in the description on the menu so I would have known to specify without.
I ordered tea and they forgot or something so I didn’t really get to enjoy it with my meal. That was a little disappointing.
The atmosphere isn’t bad, but it’s small and was fairly busy/crowded around 5:30 on a Friday.
All told, I might try it again knowing what I know now.

We came here by chance and were surprised that Omaha has such a great Lebanese restaurant. Great food, friendly counter service and reasonable prices. What else could you ask for? This place is very unpretentious and has a lively atmosphere. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table. Drinks and utensils are self-service. Service is efficient, but don’t expect anything like full service. The food itself was excellent and very authentic. We had the moussaka, which is vegetarian. It was terrific. Make sure you have time: I suspect there may be a long line at the busiest times.

A friend introduced me to El Basha, and I’m so glad. I had a beef gyro with fries and baklava. The gyro was absolutely delicious. The fries were fine, and the baklava was good-better than I’ve had in other places in Omaha, but not the best I’ve ever had. This place is small, you order at the counter before sitting down, and then your food is brought to you. It didn’t feel too packed even though it is small and most of the tables were full. It looked like they have a nice patio space when the weather is nicer too. Will definitely be coming back.

The gyro was very, very good, but the fries were lacking as they were soggy and not up to par. We were lucky to have beaten the lunch rush by mere moments as the ordering line got long, the place filled up quickly and seats were taken. Clearly they are doing something right, and perhaps they will be able to expand their space shortly to accommodate the guests who are eager to eat there.

Can’t wait to come to Omaha to try this place over and over; especially the outdoor dining. Super clean and delicious food.

Went in for dinner with a couple friends after hearing mixed things, and overall it was a solid experience. The place had a relaxed vibe, not too fancy but comfortable enough to sit and talk. We ordered a few different dishes to share, and most of the food was well seasoned and fresh. The hummus and grilled meats stood out, though one of the sides was a little bland for my taste. Portions were fair for the price, nothing over the top. Service was polite and fairly quick, even though it was somewhat busy. Not a spot I’d drive across town for, but I’d come back if I was in the area and craving Lebanese food.

Incredible food! I could eat this every day. Get v there early! It was a weekday afternoon at 4:30, and by 5:15pm the tightly packed tables were full. I kept wondering about fire code if we’d all get out. I truly hope their success let’s them obtain a larger building, as they deserve it. You order at the counter, which was odd to me. I understand why they need people to pay first, but the order line passes right by all the tables. I would have loved for someone to explain the items though, to recommend the right beverage (as they have a huge bar, yet I didn’t see a list), and suggest a desert or coffee. I was thankful I noticed the coffee before we ordered and paid. The coffee really needs instructions, though, as we are coffee experts yet have never experienced Turkish coffee. It was incredible. I hope great success in all the future to this amazing gem of a restaurant, and we will be back next time we are in Omaha.

El Basha is an absolute hidden gem! Truly some of the best food in all of Omaha. The lentil Soup to start kicked off this meal with absolute delicious depth of flavor. The Greek salad is always fresh with perfectly toasted pita. The Gyro, the Shawarma, and the kebabs are all must try. El Basha makes some of the absolute best cauliflower around and it is a must try.
This is one of the best Mediterranean experiences, the service is excellent for such a small restaurant and the food never fails. An absolute must try in Omaha.

My family and I stopped in one evening for dinner and we were in for quite a treat. We were barely able to get a seat to eat because all tables inside and outside were full. This situation was definitely and indication for the quality of food we experienced. We started with lentil soup before moving into our mezzes and main chicken and lamb grills. Everything was good and as authentic as it could be for this restaurant in the US. I will definitely be returning over and over again and so should you!
