We stopped at Twin Pines Drive-In while driving over the pass and it turned out to be one of those easy, satisfying meals that just hits the spot.
The Mushroom Swiss burger was easily my favorite. The patty had a great sear and was cooked just right — juicy without falling apart. They were generous with the mushrooms, and the Swiss melted perfectly over everything. Nothing fancy, nothing trying too hard. Just a really well-made burger that tastes like someone actually cares about what they’re putting out.
The bacon cheeseburger was just as solid. The bacon had that right mix of crisp and chew, and the beef had good flavor on its own. It didn’t need to be drowned in sauce or overloaded with toppings to be good. The BLT also deserves mention. A lot of places treat BLTs like filler items, but this one had thick bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomatoes that actually tasted fresh. Toasted bread tied it all together.
It’s also incredibly convenient. You’re only a minute or two off I-90, which makes it a perfect stop without adding extra time to your trip. Parking was easy, and the whole experience felt relaxed.
Service was friendly and straightforward. No attitude, no rush — just good people doing their job well.
Overall, Twin Pines is exactly what you want from a classic drive-in: dependable food, fair prices, and a laid-back atmosphere. Definitely a 5/5 stop in Cle Elum.

5/5 would highly recommend. This place set us right after going to the Gorge for a long weekend. The deluxe is delicious, like a Big Mac but made right and brought back true nostalgia. Get the fried green beans and fry sauce, you won’t be disappointed! We didn’t get any ice cream items but they looked great too. Take the time to stop here, sit outside under the pines and enjoy a great meal.

Worth the wait! Very enjoyable burger. My friend and I had basic cheeseburgers and shared fries. Soft, perfectly toasted bun with a good quality burger with cheese and condiments (mayo for me; mustard and ketchup for my friend). Made to order and it showed.

Fresh food, very well cooked food, great prices. BUT no flavor ! I tried the crispy chicken sandwich and onion rings. To make that good , you need spices. Very well executed and although run by teens they did a descent job but I was hyped out about trying it and was disappointed. I did not regret trying it. It’s just not something to write home about .

Yes, the line was long, but absolutely worth the wait. This place knows how to do burgers right. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and loaded with all the good stuff, but you gotta ask for ketchup and tomatoes. You can tell everything is made with care, and the first bite makes you forget all about the time you spent waiting. If you’re a burger lover, this spot is a must.

Passed this place many times over the years. We decided to stop on our way home and I’m so glad we did! The FOOD IS GREAT. Fry sauce is amazing. The onion ring batter is delicious. The deluxe burger was delicious. The FRIED green beans are DELICIOUS. Yes, you read that correctly…. I was skeptical but I’m a believer now. Service was great!

The old school diner vibe was fun! Food was delicious, albeit on the high side, especially for smaller items like a kids grilled cheese, chicken strips, and condiments. Really cool outdoor picnic style seating area. My only complaints are no trash cans in the grassy picnic area (unless I missed them, I didn’t look super hard), and no baby changing station in either bathroom. We ordered a few minutes past noon and the line really started to form immediately after at 12:30.

Twin Pines Burgers is an absolute must if you’re anywhere near the area! This place is everything a burger joint should be—delicious, fresh, and totally worth the wait. Yes, the line can get long, but trust me, it’s long for a reason. The food is just that good.
The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can taste the quality in every bite. They have a great variety of toppings and combinations, so whether you’re a classic cheeseburger fan or want something more adventurous, you’ll find something to love. The fries are crispy and golden, and the milkshakes? Pure heaven—thick, creamy, and packed with flavor.
We had a group of picky eaters and everyone walked away full and happy. The staff is friendly, efficient, and clearly working hard to keep things moving without sacrificing quality. The vibe of the place is laid-back and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
If you’re in town, don’t skip this spot. Twin Pines Burgers nails it on every level—food, service, and atmosphere. We’re already talking about coming back just for another burger. It really is that good!
