My wife and I stopped into this quiet little town known as Beaufort, SC. We stayed at a great place, another review is coming, but saw the Q on Bay BBQ and wanted to give it a try. We arrived on a Saturday night and the place was oddly quiet, no biggie, but still weird for a Saturday at 6pm. Anyways–my wife and I were sat in the back of the restaurant where several other couples were eating. Again, the place wasn’t really busy, however it took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to say hello or to ask for beverages. I wanted to try a hazy IPA and our server said sure. We placed our order and began to wait…..and wait……and wait. While waiting, I decided to read other reviews and I read one where the lady said how the food was just blah, not really tasty, especially for the price, well, she was right! We ordered the eggroll and the best thing about it was the BBQ sauce it came with. Just bland. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was just alright. Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t anything of significance either, again, blah. Ultimately, pass on this place. Like another reviewer mentioned, the taste, or lack there of, for the price, definitely not worth it.

I don’t typically leave less than 5 Star reviews but I was very disappointed by the food here. Service was great. We were sat quickly, our server was busy so the hostess came and took our drink order immediately and soon after our server came over and apologized for the delay. We were very happy with the service but the food was just not good. The tacos weren’t much a tacos and all and are dry pulled pork on a crunchy dried up tortilla. We were also very disappointed by the ribs. Maybe the saucy ribs were better but the ones we got were flavorless. The Mac and cheese was also nothing to write home about. The wings were very crispy and tasty though as well as the French fries. We probably will not be back, flavor was not worth the price.

The staff was friendly. Sadly it did take a while for our drinks for the bar to show. The pound cake was also hard as a rock. Was unable to eat it without the whole thing being on the fork.

Very good BBQ. I had smoked wings that were very good! Also had Craft local beer that was excellent. Service was great.

I’ve been to this restaurant about seven times. At first, everything was great — the food was amazing, the drinks were good, and the live music created a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, my last three visits have been disappointing.

On my third-to-last visit, I sat at the bar. Even though the place wasn’t busy, it was difficult to get the bartender’s attention. I ordered chicken wings, and while the flavor was good, they were served cold.

On my second-to-last visit (12/5/25), I came with a friend. We ordered chicken wings and the BBQ platter. After waiting about 45 minutes, both dishes arrived cold. The servers, however, were amazing and very apologetic, and they removed the chicken wings from my check.

On my most recent visit (12/12/25), the hostess seated me quickly, but I waited around 30 minutes without anyone coming to take my order. I eventually approached a staff member, who apologized for the delay. This time, the food itself was good. I also want to mention that the servers are always amazing and do their best, despite these issues.

I really like this place and hope these problems can be addressed, because it has great potential and used to be one of my favorites.

Simply loved the Q Burger (6oz Wagyu Beef) sandwich. The wrap comes in a coleslaw in it. The brisket that my friend had was amazing with the dipping sauce. The salad too was great. The fries were fine as well. Great view of sitting outside or close to the door as you can see the sea.

Overall a very good experience!
Great price as well!

Updated: I decided to visit again, and the server, a gentleman, was very nice and took care of what we needed. Food was still incredibly dry.

I added pictures this time around.

The good: the staff was amazing and tentative! We had a group of about 20, and she was on her A game. Great selection of beer as well.

The Bad: The food is very inconsistent from plate to plate. The pulled pork, chicken, and the brisket were all dry and bland.

Great for group drinks; food is not so much recommended!

I loved this restaurant! The fried oysters just melted in mouth. I savored each bite of the fried seafood platter. My friend enjoyed his ribs…it has a great location by the water for an after meal stroll. Very welcoming! The waitperson disappeared for a time but apologized for her absence.

I’m not one to usually leave a bad review but I think management set the servers up to fail. Came on a weekend evening pretty early for dinner service. Took about 45 minutes for beer (one on tap, on in a bottle). Then watched two other tables that came after us get drinks, food, and leave. We did not get water at our table. It seemed busy and understaffed, understandable that it is no fault of the server who served us. We then waited for food for a VERY long time…. Already after our 40 minute wait for drinks. The BBQ type platter with different meats was underwhelming and some of it cold (like fridge cold). And some of the seafood also ordered by our table seemed “off” a bit and we couldn’t finish. Menu is a bit weird and doesn’t seem to emphasize BBQ much which is why we came.
We did consider leaving after our drinks before we even got the food. Feels more the a tourist trap then good food. Overpriced

Stopped in to get an order to go. Hostess directed us to the bar to orderand highly recommended the the mahi tacos. We ordered at the bar and ordered a beer while we waited. An hour later, we were still waiting. The bartender told us the kitchen was busy with the dining room customers. I walked into the dining room and there was one table of twelve in the entire dining room. We finally got our food, walked two minutes to our boat. The fish on the tacos was way over cooked with little flavor and the cabbage slaw was almost nonexistent. The fresh cut fries may have been fresh cut, but they were not fresh fried They were limp and greasy. Overall, a very disappointing meal.
