The courses that blew me away were the amuse bouches at the beginning, the waffle like starter along with the other offerings were definitely one of the top aperitifs I’ve ever tasted. The pistachio sorbet, it was my first time trying it savoury style and it was amazing. The dessert – Spicy pineapple – simply SUBLIME! It was the best dish of the evening; I could taste the fruit and earthy herbs which really made me nostalgic. So magical! For this reason alone I’ll raise my rating from 4 to 5 stars.
It was better than the crunchy grapefruit (the popular le cinq dessert) in my opinion. While it had a lot of dimensions to it, I wasn’t wowed, and maybe because it was eclipsed by the dessert preceding it 😀
What I loved about this experience were the additional offerings of Kouign Aman, pre-dessert called dairy iced, etc. which were all complimentary. The service was good, though I’m not a big sucker for this aspect as I’m usually just focussed on the food. Would certainly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable culinary experience.
However, its service is absolutely the best in Paris; whether it’s the little sweets and CCD photo given halfway through the meal, or the thoughtful gifts at the end, everything feels genuinely considerate.
When paying the bill, I left a bit of tip and the restaurant gifted me a book — even signed by the chef.
Although the price is on the higher side, it’s still worth trying on a special occasion.
Canapés ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cheese waffle — very crispy, with the salty aroma of cheese
Citrus & ginger — light citrus and ginger notes
Mushroom tart — crispy, with a strong mushroom flavour
Salmon & caviar — salmon’s richness paired with the salty umami of caviar
Oir Mise en Bouche ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Opens with a sweet-and-sour flavour; perhaps it would taste better without the pistachio cream
Potato Gnocchi ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Chewy and bouncy; I personally don’t like the black olive and basil seasoning
Truffled Asparagus ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Asparagus is tender and sweet; the truffle sauce isn’t very strong, making the dish feel quite refreshing
Scallops ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Large, plump scallops — very sweet and fresh; the morels are crispy
Pistachio Sorbet ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Surprisingly harmonious with the lobster; cool and creamy, with lobster umami and a hint of citrus aroma
Royale of Black Pudding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very rich umami; the sauce has a little acidity; seasoning is moderate; the onion tartare is quite good
Mignardises ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mango tart — very intense passionfruit and mango flavour
Kumquat — strong fruitiness with the fragrant aroma of the peel
Pecan caramel tart — pecans + caramel, delicious and satisfying
Dairy Ice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautifully presented; icy and creamy, melts instantly in the mouth
Welcome to Paris ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The service is indeed excellent; they offered a little sweet — dill sorbet, very refreshing
Crunchy Grapefruit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sugar shard, sorbet, fruit flesh, grapefruit vesicles — multiple textures together; both the acidity-sweetness of the fruit and the fragrance of the peel
Chocolate and Hazelnut Crisps ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Crispy; chocolate and nut aromas combined with vanilla ice cream
The Chocolate Trolly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A small trolley is pushed over; my favourites were the nut chocolate and marshmallow; you can choose according to your preference

From the moment we arrived, service was flawless — warm, attentive, and perfectly paced without ever feeling stiff. The team even surprised us with a thoughtful anniversary gesture, which made the evening extra special.
The wine pairings were outstanding, each glass carefully chosen to complement the food without overwhelming it. The dishes themselves were beautifully executed, refined, and deeply satisfying — from the bread trolley (impossible to resist) through to the magnificent dessert trolley. I only wished I had more space to enjoy more of it all.
Yes, dining here is undeniably expensive, but the overall experience — the precision of the cooking, the grace of the service, and the atmosphere of celebration — made it worth every cent.
Le Cinq is fine dining at its best: not just a meal, but a memory.
