Our first visit was a tasty one with so many menu options that we ended up ordering more than planned. Everything we tried was delicious and well prepared. For takeout, placing an online order ahead of time is a smart move since there can be a short wait, though the waiting area is comfortable. The staff provided friendly and helpful service throughout. Do not miss the bread pudding, especially the deep fried version, which was outstanding.

Small brewery selling some delicious soul food and good beer!! The fried chicken breast and collard greens are a must-try! The fish came out hot…crunchy with a flaky inside. Awesome service with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Honestly, wasn’t sure what to expect. This place is underrated. Mike was our server, he did a great job, awesome personality and out going. Played roulette here and ended up with a great fried chicken and collard greens. Also indulged in a great Biscuit Bread pudding with ice cream and Carmel! Amazing!!

As an avid traveler and picky eater, I always love when I can support local Black-owned businesses. Wasn’t expecting amazing soul food in ABQ, but that is what I got in a laid back cool atmosphere. The chicken and cornbread waffles were amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing. Highly recommend!

Took my Fiancé here for a dinner and to do a review. Our waiter Cullen was very nice, he was attentive and even gave a sample of their strawberry milkshake beer, with our order of drinks.

I ordered the NM Soul Burger. The Good: The burger was delicious and flavorful and something I’d have again. The Bad: I asked for medium well, but it came well done. My fries were cold. They also forgot to put the Red Chili BBQ Sauce.

My Fiancé got the Southern Fried chicken plate, with mashed potatoes and the Mac and Cheese. The Good: The chicken was very fresh, hot and well seasoned. As well as the mashed potatoes having good texture and taste. The Bad: Compared to the rest of the plate the Mac and cheese was very bland and not seasoned as well as the rest of the food.

Note: We ordered some food to go for my fiancés parents but they forgot two pieces of chicken.

Service was fine, but personally the food could have been better. The award winning beers tasted like a sadder Modelo.

The chicken was thinly breaded and the famous spiciness never showed up. The gumbo was basically salsa with a quarter cup of white rice. The fries were seasoned but somehow had no salt. Overall, more effort went into plating than flavor, the food wasn’t savory, lacked edamame, and leaned more vinegary than satisfying.

Feels like ages since I last visited Nexus! The food is still pretty tasty, and their jambalaya remains my go to comfort dish. When I added shrimp, the portion felt a bit light for the $22 price—those shrimp must have been playing hide and seek with the jambalaya! On the bright side, the lady at the pickup counter was absolutely wonderful friendly, quick, and made the whole experience a smooth sail. Definitely worth another visit!

Jude was our server and he had so much knowledge with the beer choices and food menu. His attitude was a breath of fresh air. He made eye contact and made sure we felt welcomed. This will forever be a spot we stop at when we come through. Also get the quinoa salad worth every bit of it. My husband who doesn’t each veggies even loved it.
