I tried to send Hal’s a private message to explain our experience but they haven’t replied or even read it. Our order was incomplete and they made substitutions without asking. When my daughter went back and asked about the curly fries and tartar sauce which we were charged $2.50 for she was told that they were out. They said she would be refunded and then they shut the window. By the time she got her meal was cold. This meal was over $60 and it was terrible.

I love their ranch burgers. But their service has been horrible the past year. It’s all about making it more convenient for them, and worse and harder for their customers. Over the past year, after deciding to keep track after several mistakes in a row. They also decided to stop giving sauces/dips out in cup containers (I’ve only ordered ranch) – and handing out ranch dressing packets…this means you can’t dip your fries/onion rings – because you can’t frickin’ dip them into a packet, AND, they don’t give a container to pour out the ranch to dip in. Here’s how I’ve ordered the last ten times: Ranch burger meal, no pickles, no tomatoes…this should come with napkins, so you’d think:
Number of times I had to pick out tomatoes or pickles or both out of my burger: 7
Number of times I had to return to get napkins: 8
Number of times I’ve asked for my ranch in a dip cup and been told no and not received it I after their change and asked for it specifically: 8
That’s not good or caring customer service folks.

Ridiculously understaffed. It never used to be this difficult to phone in an order. Poor girls are struggling in there. Food quality has gone downhill. Since when do we not salt fries? It’s such a shame the new ownership has caused so many issues with a restaurant so beloved by this town. Please listen to your customers and fix this mess.

I enjoyed this place as a kid and I still do and I’m surprised that they’re doing so good that I recommend it

If you love lots of mayo and shredded lettuce on your burger I think you will like this. I do not but knew about before hand so was prepared to scrape it all off which I immediately did. I ordered the mushroom burger which had a nice slice of tomato. That part was fine. Oh and I also got a small shake and onion rings. The ordering process was good, order and pay at the first window, pickup at the second. No need the get out of the car which is why I went there in the first place. I didn’t go inside so can’t comment on atmosphere.
All in all, I would return again but only if they came up with a sauce other than mayonnaise. I found the breading on the onion rings heavy so would not order again. I would order the shake in a different flavor. The black raspberry which I did order was rather sweet. Should have gone with plain vanilla.

As a patron of house for more than 60 years as well as having an extensive background in food service, I feel qualified to write this review.
I first started as a customer of Hall’s drive-in while Howell was working the window.
I continued as a customer through Bob Andersson’s ownership.
The consistency remained the same regarding the food and the service.
Comes the approach by the new owner;
First, I saw a lower quality due to the Cooking of the food and speed of service. For several months now, I have been avoiding them and going elsewhere
Yesterday I decided to give them another shot. I ordered my standard deluxe cheese and was surprised to see that the size of the beef patty had increased. It was not overcooked and came out in a timely manner.
UNFORTUNATELY, the cook was very heavy handed with the salt.
More concerning was that the sauce (GOOP) That had made Hal’s famous Had been replaced with mayonnaise.
I hope that they figure it out as I really miss the burgers that kept me coming back for so many years.

Since the new owners things have gone downhill. We ordered a chipotle burger and a plain bacon cheeseburger. What was supposed to be a plain bacon burger had mayo, lettuce, and blue cheese on it…I did call and let them know.

This is a bit off the I5, but worth the detour if you are driving through. It’s a fun, old fashioned, burger joint. Currently just drive thru and walk up, but they have a couple picnic benches to sit at. It’s a busy place, but they seemed to keep up well. We tried 4 types of burgers, all delicious, the rings were good, and the “curly fries” were of the type you’d get at the fair. The shakes were possibly the favorite, all 4 we got were tasty, I particularly liked the root beer float shake.

So sad that whoever purchased Hal’s has just let it go. Filthy inside and out, no staff. Food is nothing like what we’ve k own all these years, hamburger greasy and just thrown together. Windows are so dirty, had to ask them to wipe a table and there was only one other table occupied. Really sad for our community.

I went there with my 11 year old daughter and got a jalapeno burger with no sauce and when I received it, the burger looked great but had sauce. I am not a sauce person and mind you I am very pregnant. So I went inside and simply asked if they would just switch it out and make one with no sauce. The gal cooking her name is Emma started arguing with the poor front counter lady ( the whole restaurant could hear Emma yelling tell her that she’s not fixing it and doesn’t have time and to just give her a refund because she’s not fixing it ). I have never experienced this before. I am in the food industry and have been my whole life and would never behave this way. Also the meal was $20 so I expected it to be what I wanted. I think the girl shouldn’t work there. She’s clearly not happy with her job. I never leave reviews but I was baffled and disappointed. I think the owner or manager should know what is going on with their employees. I’ve been here a lot and never have I been treats this way.
