Wall-to-wall kitsch & generous plates of morning favorites greet guests at this buzzy brunch stop.

I graduated from MSU in 2005 and am amazed that yesterday was my first time visiting Golden Harvest. A friend wanted to go there for birthday breakfast so we made the hour trip to check this place out. From the moment we pulled up to when we sat down, it felt like a fever dream, but in a good way. I don’t think there was one menu item that didn’t sound appealing but decided to go with the Banana Cream Pie French Toast and had to get an order of biscuits and gravy to share with the friends as I wanted to give those a try. That was, by far, the best French toast I have had in my entire life!
The service was great, and very welcoming… almost as though you were invited into their own personal home to be served breakfast. If you are looking for a quick meal, this is not the place to go. You can’t rush perfection. It was well worth the wait and it seemed to fly by just looking at all the different things in the walls. There were many things that gave my friends and I a good laugh.
I can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu

AMAZING find. I love the food here, great and interesting menu, FRIENDLY service, and super fun decor.
It’s a pretty small space, so be prepared to wait for a table and also for your food. We waited about an hour for our food but it was well worth it. 100% will recommend but make sure you are ready for the wait and that you’ve nothing to get to. Just chill and enjoy great breakfast vibes.
Also, I’m a crazy nut for biscuits and gravy and the biscuit here is to die for. Amazing sausage gravy too. SO delicious. I got the north and south platter (can’t remember the exact name) but it’s biscuits with poutine. That beef gravy was out of this world. Wow!

I love the spot. Anytime I come through the city and I’ve got time when they are open I always stop. Friendly staff, fantastic food. Highly recommended. I’ll be back. Good to see you guys again. Today I had biscuits and gravy and a Polish scramble. Biscuits and gravy of course are fantastic. Polish scrambles also great. Bring cash.
Update. Jan 31 2026. Had the snow day open omelette today. Fantastic. Staff and atmosphere still great. Thank you!

Only reason for not getting 5/5 is the waiting time, not outside … that’s expected but once inside it took more than an hour for our food to get served (close to 2 hrs I’d say)…
That said, the waiting was worthed. I don’t think I’ve had some chilaquiles as good as the ones they made for me there!!!
What else can I say about the looks of the place on the outside seems like you wouldn’t want to get inside, once inside the decorations are very very peculiar …

Fact. Golden Harvest is easily the best breakfast spot in Lansing. Hard to choose from their eclectic menu, but we went with a spinach and artichoke omelet and the banana pudding French toast. Both were fabulous. Our server was a peach. Also fact. Not sure I’d return. We waited well over an hour for our food. And the acoustics are such that you can’t carry on a conversation. But I’m glad I had the experience.

What an experience! Eclectic doesn’t even start to cover the decor. This hole in the wall is fabulous. It takes quite a bit of time just to view the entire restaurant which is an incredibly small room. There’s something to read or absorb everywhere. The music is a tad loud but not loud enough to stop conversations. The wait staff is charming to say the least. We had a group of seven so we did have to wait a while to get table assignments, but it was well worth it. Our food was outstanding. We were fortunate enough to still be there at closing time so we got a good visit with Vanessa, the owner, to top off our experience. I will be back there as soon as I can manage. The breakfast that I was served gave me four full meals by the time I got through my leftovers. It was incredible food, ample servings, very affordable and overall worth every penny and every minute spent. Savory the flavor, you’ll be glad you did.

New go-to spot in Lansing for brunch!
The place is small and tight with limited seating and a no nonsense tone. Menu options are all $15, handwritten on white boards. CASH OR VENMO ONLY!
We got the Irish scramble, the “suck it” omelette and the cinnamon crunch French toast. The food took a little under an hour to come out but we were anticipating this having read other google reviews before showing up. The staff kept checking in with hot coffee so we did not feel ignored or forgotten. Everything was great and the worth was absolutely worth it. Each dish was thoughtfully balanced and generously portioned. Huge selection of hot sauces.
I’d recommend any of the three dishes we tried and the staff recommended the biscuits and gravy and the shrimp and grits.
Dreaming of our next visit!

My first time eating here Omg.. it’s small, cluttered, loud music, the best freaking breakfast I’ve had since my granddaddy passed away. Takes a little time to get your food but I over stuffed myself cause I didn’t want to waste anything.

When I tell you this place is serving up some of the most AMAZING food in the area, I MEAN IT! And for those that say ” well its a long wait” I say ” good things come to those who wait ” the atmosphere is indescribable ” now back to the food!!! Some of if not THE BEST I’ve ever had! See the pictures.

Genuinely the best breakfast spot I’ve been to in so long—and the best in Lansing by far. Although we expected to wait based on reviews and how small the joint is, we were immediately seated & got our food quickly with incredible service. Highly recommend the Butter-Face Omelette!
