After a day of traveling we didn’t feel like driving too far from our hotel. We decided on going to the Westport Plaza and try Drunken Fish ..a sushi/Japanese restaurant.

We were seated immediately. Their menu is extensive offering a variety of sushi rolls and Japanese entrees.

My wife started with the Miso soup that she liked very much.

We each had a roll..she had the Veggie Roll since she is gluten free and I had a Philly roll. The tolls are smaller than we normally get but loaded with flavor.

This is their original location and its time for a makeover. They have 2 locations in the St Louis area and 1 in Edwardsville.

For fresh sushi and good tasting Japanese food,Drunken Fish is a solid choice.

Not really impressed. Service was great, food was just okay. $8 for a house salad that didn’t have anything but lettuce and dressing and was served on an extremelysmall plate. No cucumber or tomatoes like a traditional Japanese house salad. Rolls are apparently pre-made so no adjusting to those. I thought sushi was made fresh but idk. Anyways server was kind, but won’t be back.

We really enjoyed some of the new menu items here. The Caribbean roll is top tier. It comes with a ton of stuff, and the entire combination is just fantastic. Loved the plantain fries that come served on top. The Black Panther roll is like a vegetarian version of a California roll with purple sticky rice. It would have been amazing if the rice wasn’t undercooked. Hope to come back and give that one another shot again soon. Also, the signature Hibiscus Blossom cocktail is so good!

It was Valentine’s Day so I was prepared to be patient. I brought my family and we were seated outside of the restaurant. Fine. It wasn’t busy. Drinks were very slow to come and the beer was lukewarm. For how long we waited it was ridiculous to then receive warm beer. Fried rolls tasted like they were overcooked or the oil hadn’t been changed. I love this place normally, this was not good. Waitress and hostess seemed very annoyed like they had been set up for failure. The server did not try to make anything better or make our experience special. She very much did not care. Icing on the cake was an auto gratuity on a party of 6. No surprise the staff was doing the bare minimum. I paid $20 for a double captain and Pepsi as well. That’s not cool. Just care and try. We will never be back again. Ever.

Drunken Fish never disappoints! Everything from the sushi rolls to the cocktails was absolutely perfect. The vibe is always upbeat, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. You can tell the place is really well-managed — everything runs so smoothly. It’s easily one of my favorite spots to grab dinner and drinks with friends! Highly recommend!

Mason was great!! The food was great, ambiance was great, 10/10! Mason went above and beyond to make sure my roll was made exactly the way I wanted. He was very attentive and helpful. I was visiting St. Louis and I will NEVER forget these poke nachos or the lobster spring rolls

I had an amazing experience! The food was fresh and flavorful — easily some of the best sushi around. The atmosphere was fun and inviting, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. You can tell the staff really care about their guests and take pride in what they do. Big shoutout to the management for keeping everything running so smoothly! I will absolutely be back very soon!

We enjoyed our visit to Drunken Fish. Fresh and tasty sushi. Our server was very attentive. Westport Plaza is in the process of a much needed facelift so the outside of this restaurant will be up to par with the inside. Can’t wait to come back.

I am back in town visiting friends, and we decided to go out for sushi. I cannot believe how far downhill this restaurant has gone….
The place was pretty empty for a Saturday night which should have been my first clue. Our server had zero personality. Half of the rolls brought to the table were either pre-prepped or leftover. The fish was dried out and the rice was cold and dried. I don’t think I have had a more unimpressive meal here, and I have eaten at this Drunken Fish dozens of times before I moved out of state. Thoroughly disappointed with this experience.
