Went here for lunch and had a great experience. Mary was my server and she did a wonderful job with communication, recommendations, and hospitality. You sit at restaurants for that kind of experience. Food was pretty solid, ordered the wings, brisket balls and fries.
Wings 5/5
Fries 5/5
Brisket balls 3.5/5 – just wasn’t for me. I’m sure some people would like it. The brisket flavor was too strong for me I wanted to taste the Mac n cheese

I decided to try their new “southern trio”. All was good until i was about to get another wing and saw it. Yeah, I lost my appetite. The sauced feather was enough for me. I guess it was a quatro, feather was on the house !

Edit: Right before I posted this, I sent feedback to the store online and they called me within 15 minutes to fix the issue. Same way I was schocked to see the wing is the same way I was shocked at their prompt response. Great, customer service!

That wing might have been but custumer service was .

Jim ‘N Nick’s Loaded Bar-B-Q Baker is absolutely incredible! I ordered the baker with smoked turkey, and it was perfection from start to finish. The baked potato was huge, soft, and fluffy on the inside with a perfectly crisp skin. It came loaded with generous portions of smoked turkey, crispy bacon, melted cheddar cheese, fresh scallions, creamy butter, sour cream, and a drizzle of their signature barbecue sauce every bite was bursting with flavor. The smoked turkey was tender and juicy, with that perfect smoky taste that Jim ‘N Nick’s is known for. It’s comfort food done right and definitely fills you up. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting atmosphere. If you’re craving a hearty meal that hits all the right notes, this dish is a must-try. Five stars without a doubt I’ll be back for another one soon!

Came in about an hour from close on a Tuesday night. Was impressed by the attentiveness of the staff and quality of the food.

Chicken was great – good smoke flavor and was juicy. Spare ribs were a standout – not too sweet, excellent texture, good all around flavor.

Taps list was good, although it would be nice to list the local ones up on the board. Server was good at explaining those, though!

This is my last time buying the loaded brisket potato! For $23 why my meat is never on the potato?? Tonight you gave minced brisket meat and was less than a forth of a cup! This is disrespectful! The restaurant was not crowded at all and now I understand why not! The guy was nice after I opened my box in front of him and asked why y’all keep doing me like this last time I received a lot of fat and half the potato didn’t have any meat on it at all. I let that go because you all was crowded so I understood. Yet I can’t keep spending and y’all half doing yet received! I’ve learned my lesson to shop elsewhere for a loaded brisket potato. You all are not consistent or worth funds spent! You should do better by your customer’s that choose to spend with you!

I came from far away to try this highly-rated restaurant, but honestly, all the meat was extremely dry. The photos looked amazing, but in reality, the meat was so tough and dry that it was almost inedible. It felt like meat that had been grilled and then left out all day until it went cold. Very disappointing—I couldn’t even finish it because it was just too dry.

My son suggested this and this location in particular. He likes the Carolina style barbecue. I got the brisket platter with slaw and fries. They have the GOOD ranch, folks. (iYKYK) The brisket was chefs kiss!!!!
It’s a family friendly spot which also means it’s a loud environment.
Claire was our server and she’s clearly been doing this for some time. Very efficient, perfect amount of interaction and pleasant.
I’ll definitely be going back for more.

We are visiting from Belgium and I wanted my family to try some of the amazing food I grew up with. Not only were we 100% satisfied from the food, the service from Trevor surpassed anything we’ve experienced these last two weeks of vacation. The catfish was perfectly fried, the half chicken was one of the best restaurant chickens I’ve ever tasted and all the trimmings were perfect. We leave in a few days but are trying to find a way to sneak back up for another tasty treat! Thank you for making the experience so memorable.

Working in Birmingham, AL for an extended period of time and Jim ‘N’ Nick’s was right up the street from both my hotel and my work site so we stopped in for lunch one time. Listen, I enjoyed myself SO MUCH that I returned 2 more times for dinner! Here’s why!

Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is huge and has a fairly large footprint for being in a downtown setting. No private parking, but there’s plenty of street parking. Once inside you’re greeted by a wide-open dining room and a big center bar with seating on 3 sides. There are dining booths on both sides and plenty of standard tables. If you walk on the left side of the bar and head toward the back you’ll see the to-go section where you can walk right up to the counter and order your food to roll out with.

Service: I can’t remember the name of our servers, but we sat at the bar each time and everyone was wonderful. As a collective they were funny, sweet, likeable and personable.

Food: Like I mentioned, the first time we came, it was for lunch. Then they dropped those complimentary cheesy muffins in front of us, I was befuddled, beside myself and just bewildered. They were AMAZING. I could’ve eaten JUST THOSE for lunch and been so happy. However, for lunch I wanted something light and went with their Chopped Southern Salad which consists of smoked chicken, smoked onions, sweet corn, cheddar cheese, bacon, cucumber, tomatoes, almonds and homemade croutons then tossed in house-made vinaigrette. It was delightfully fresh, yet filling and savory. I loved it. However, I saw they had smoked wings so on my next visit I came in for those… I was able to try 2 flavors, their Buffalo and Morgan Co. White Sauce (also knows as Alabama BBQ sauce). They were DELIGHTFUL. This may have been the first time I was able to try an Alabama BBQ sauce and I really liked it’s savory-ness. It’s a mayonnaise-based sauce which gives it its white color and rounded flavor. The Buffalo was thick and hearty, better than a watery traditional Buffalo sauce. On my 3rd visit I tried out their Combo Plate. On it was their smoked turkey, fried catfish and beef brisket. On the side was a salad and a lil’ cup of mac & cheese. The food was so delicious it really made me think this place was like a one-off. Much to my surprise there are Jim ‘N’ Nick’s BBQ places ALL OVER THE SOUTH! Nice job guys.

Value: It’s a BBQ place and usually they aren’t cheap. I feel like $30.00 is enough to come here and pig out with!

In conclusion, I loved it here… That’s why I hit this place up 3 times. Lol. I will certainly pay this place a return visit or check out another one if I’m in the area!

First time in Burrmingham, AL. Uber driver recommended this place. Exceptional food and amazing and friendly staff. Our server Church, was so helpful explaining the menu. Honestly, get the platter, it’s the only way to go. Service was quick and the food was warm and delicious. You won’t leave hungry as the portions are insane. The highlight was their cornbread cheese muffins! The food felt homemade something that’s challenging to recreate.
