We came on Valentines day so the table seating was dim with 1 candle and an image projected Saying happy Valentine day. This was very cute. Then we get the menu, everyone orders something different best friend got the vodka drink flights, guy got the whisky sour and I got a cute like flower power drink. All were amazing.
We order so much food CRISPY BRUSSELS HAD MY HEART. Ribs were flavored giving 2 different bbq dipping, and HONEY. THE honeyhot chickens omg amazing. They give these cute pickled onions on the side very good, my friend got some lettuce wraps if you want a healthy option. Let me tell you were were amazed with the food FLAVORS and the vibe inside it was all amazing and would have never expected this looking from the outside. prices seemed reasonable, matched the food quality. Waiter was attentive. For how the food taste, more people need to be here. Make a stop here!
Before heading over, we checked their website and OpenTable and saw plenty of availability, so we didn’t think a reservation was necessary. We walked in around 6:30 PM and were asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, the host immediately told us there would be a 45-minute wait. Her delivery came off a bit abrasive and not very welcoming. The customers who walked in right after us were told the same thing.
We checked OpenTable again while standing there and nothing had changed, so we booked the next available reservation at 6:45 PM. After waiting just a couple more minutes, another group came in and was given the same 45-minute wait explanation. We then overheard that bar seating might be available, so instead of waiting, we decided to check that option.
At first glance, there were plenty of open tables on the dining floor and several seats available at the bar, so we’re still unclear why there was supposedly a 45-minute wait. There also didn’t appear to be any large event or private function happening in other rooms.
Once seated at the bar, the experience improved. The bartenders and servers were friendly, attentive, and helpful. We reviewed the menu and ordered the platter that’s been going viral on TikTok.
As for the food: the coleslaw was unimpressive and honestly a turnoff—it tasted like it had been sitting out for quite some time. The pickles were mediocre, and the cornbread was served cold, almost as if it came straight from the fridge (not sure if that’s intentional). We didn’t ask to speak with a manager, as these felt like minor issues and we’re not the type to make a fuss.
The meats, however, were very good—no complaints there. That said, having experienced true Southern BBQ in places like Memphis, South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas, this doesn’t quite compare. Still, it’s slightly above average for BBQ and comfort food overall.
Ordered the egg rolls for an appetizer which were very good. I like Mikes Hard Lemonade (I think all flavors are good) but they don’t offer them here . But the bartender was nice enough and more importantly experienced enough to make me something equivalent that was delicious… so that kinda made up for it lol.
Our Smash burgers were very good and overall it was a great experience!
2nd Visit- Weekend brunch- With how great my first experience was I was interested in trying out their brunch options. I sat at the bar and received service from Dillon and Tom which were also very personable and helpful with suggesting what selection of meat would compliment the breakfast plate’s best. I had the Pit Benny with Beef Brisket, the flavor once again was amazing and I didn’t have to use salt or pepper for additional seasoning. The home fries were cooked perfectly and had a nice crisp to them which I love. The brunch cocktail menu is unlike any other place I’ve been to with a great selection of many crafted cocktails with craft ingredients. I had “Mr. Browns Vacation” a whiskey cocktail that complimented my breakfast experience after I was finished. Looking forward to checking out the patio and outdoor vibes on my next visit.
