We had a great experience at Goode Co. Armadillo Palace! The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made our visit feel welcoming from start to finish.
We started with the deviled eggs (6/10). They were good but didn’t stand out compared to the rest of the meal.
For entrées, we ordered the 10 oz carne asada (medium) with handmade corn tortillas (8/10). The steak was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the fresh tortillas were a great touch. The 12 oz pork rib chop (9.5/10) was the highlight—super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Definitely recommend!
The white cheddar macaroni and cheese (8.5/10) was creamy and delicious, a perfect comfort side. I also had a margarita (8.5/10) that was well-balanced and refreshing.
Overall: Great service, flavorful food, and a fun atmosphere. We’ll absolutely be back!

First things first… arrived and was seated by “Hannah” which I greatly appreciated she heard us say it was cold so she seated us in the restaurant away from ac vents which temperature was perfects. So we ordered fried okra as our starter and at first I can honestly say I wasn’t impressed. It was a little undercooked for my liking. However spoke with waitresses “Gabby” and the manager “Bird” bc he wanted to know how I’d like my okra and when I say okra came back out perfect. Crispy and cooked completely through for our meal we came because we noticed they had chili Fritos which it’s cold out when I say chili was excellent best chili I’ve ever tasted here in Texas. We were so happy with both our food and experience that we will be returning for a second dose next Saturday “. Thank you GABBY, Hannah and Bird your service and food was excellent.

This place was a real treat! My wife and I wanted a late lunch but weren’t all that hungry. I’d been wanting to try the Armadillo Palace for a while and it didn’t disappoint! It is a very cool place and not very busy because it was well after lunch. We decided to split a plate and order some Butter Biscuits that came with very soft butter and a seasonal strawberry jam, which was delicious!! The biscuits were great. The photo I added was after we already ate two of them. For our meal we ordered the Heritage Pork Rib Chop and wow was this good. The waiter was awesome and split the pork chop for us, which is why it looks so skinny in the photo, but it was perfectly cooked, very tender. For our sides we got the Smoked Chicken Collard Greens and the Bacon Cheddar Grits. Everything was great and came out very quickly. We will definitely be coming back to the Armadillo Palace! Thanks for a great experience!

Typical kind of Tex/Mex bill of fare. Appetizers were fairly tasty. Burgers, grilled chicken sandwich, Chile etc were all good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Fries were limp and greasy.
Table was service was good from the support staff who actually delivered the food. The server we had was borderline. Not very attentive, forgot a beverage and overall just listless is the best way to describe. Reservations were not necessary as there appeared to be plenty of room either outside or inside. Good place to go with kids as there’s room to spread out and if they get a little noisy it shouldn’t bother anybody. Bottom line we won’t be rushing back.

I ordered the smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. I ordered the package and it’s real bad. The turkey is like two small chickens to small they’re supposed to for a 8 person, but it’s not like a form only for four persons is real ridiculous.I pay 285 for dinner for 8 persons

Our appetizers, food, service, and chill country atmosphere were excellent. The waitress covered so many duties working short staffed and she was rewarded for it. I hope everyone notices when service personnel go above and beyond. As I stated everything tasted great, but for me there was a stand out. The fried okra was absolutely the best I have eaten. I’m going to have it every time I go now. It was a great time! Thanks, Goode Armadillo Palace and staff.

We are in town for the week visiting family and I have to say this is one of the best restaurants I have been to while in Houston. Getting a good quality chicken sandwich is usually a hit or miss for me but the YardBird was probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. I would definitely come back again. 🙂

Went to a company party hosted here. It was a great experience. Bartenders were fast and friendly, the food catered by Goode BBQ was delicious, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Cozy/casual atmosphere, the stage and sound setup was great too. Highly recommend for hosting events.
