Since Livingston County no longer has a Big Boy we were forced to take a drive. After trying the Plymouth location, we were disappointed to learn they didnt have a buffet so we called Livonia and they were pleasant over the phone. We were seating in Jessie Lynn’s section and she could not have been much better. She was sharp, attentive to us and her other patrons. She was graceful, kind, thorough, and prompt. Seldom do you find decent service mich anymore, she was far beyond decent, she was excellent. The food was warm and fresh. The restaurant was tiddy and clean. And the staff and management were friendly and hospitable. We will go back.

I personally ordered the fish fillet on rice, never got my soup, and the entire plate literally tasted like nothing. I learned to cook when I was 5 and I could make a more flavorful dish at 6 then the food I was served today.
Edit update, on the way out as I was paying my bill the hostess actually asked and took the food off my bill due to the issue as she herself found it unacceptable, if you have this issue don’t wave down a waitress speak to the hostess.

Haven’t been here in years,went yesterday for the dollar big boy,also got a philly cheese steak and some chilly cheese fries. The chilly cheese on the fries didn’t taste good. the philly cheese steak wasn’t bad the big boy wasn’t either.it just doesn’t have any flavor.the restaurant is nice for the nostalgia but its not what it use to be.

Haven’t been to Big Boys in years but happened to be in Livonia. I have good memories of the Slim Jim ham and cheese sandwich. My waitress was efficient and explained how the salad bar works. I ordered the Slim Jim sandwich upgrading from French fries to onion rings. The sandwich was as good as I remember, and the onion rings were fresh, crisp with soft cooked onions on the inside. Delicious, I will be back.

My previous opinion of Big Boy was from years past, and not great, but we stopped in here for dinner and my opinion changed. This place is a blast from my past. It is crazy clean, well maintained, the staff and food are excellent. We are adding BB to our normal rotation.

Salad bar is very enjoyable. Service has improved under the new owners. Overall a better experience. The new owners of this location have turned this big boys all the way around. 360° I have ate here three times this week! Donica And her sister Tina are doing an amazing job here! Love this place. Me, my mother and my aunt have made this our go-to place for Friday night fish!

I have been eating here for over 30 years. Hasn’t changed much except the menu is not as long. While they tried to keep most people favorites, most of mine is gone. I have been eating at a Big Boy in 3 states for over 50 years. They added pizza which I tried but the extra sauce I asked for was brought on the side but not on the pizza. Salad and soup bar’s price is a little high. Lots of parking.

I want to start off by saying l love Big Boys! It is very nostalgic for me when my grandmother used to bring me here when I was a little child! I placed an order went to pick it up.. I came in first and another woman came in behind me, I held the door for her. We waited patiently and the server came to the podium and asked the woman next to me can she help her and the woman told her I was first! I said I have a take out order and she disregarded what I said and seated the woman! I hate to say it was a race issue but that’s is what it seemed like! So I stood there for a minute waiting and then I just left and called and told them to cancel the order! I was very disappointed and ate at home!
