We went on a Satuday for lunch while traveling through Colorado Springs. Luckily we were able to get a table but reservations, even at this time of day, are strongly recommended! Decor is simple yet authentic and the music overhead adds to the ambiance. We ordered 3 meals between the 2 of us and had plenty of leftovers for supper back at the hotel. All three meals were delicious, potato dumplings were spongy & filling, Goulash with spaetzel also very good. Jaeger Schnitzel comes with two good sized cutlets. I recommend this place for its authentic food, charm and very friendly wait staff. We will return if we are ever back in this area.

I first came here in 1994…. Should I stop the review there? Wonderful place, great prices, wonderful service… I lived in Germany for three years and this is the most authentic German food in Colorado!

My place to go to get authentic German food! The food and servers are amazing. Lots of Germans go there. It could be a good idea to make reservations. My moms and German friends favorite dish is liver (yes lol) and they go there Thursdays for that. Spaetzle are great. You never go wrong with Rahmschnitzel but everything is great on the menu. Def check it out.

Uwe’s German Restaurant offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that immediately brings back memories of Germany. The space is quaint and comfortable, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal and a bit of nostalgia. The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish, which really elevated the overall experience.
The food was good and clearly prepared with care, though not quite the best German cuisine I’ve had. Everything we ordered was enjoyable and satisfying, but the menu itself felt somewhat limited compared to what you might expect from a traditional German restaurant. One of the biggest letdowns was the lack of German desserts, which would have been the perfect way to finish the meal and round out the experience.
Overall, Uwe’s is a nice, cozy place to eat and reminisce about Germany. With a more expansive menu and a few classic desserts added, this would easily be a five-star spot.

So glad I discovered Uwe’s! Cute little place! Of course they have great German beer! The food is amazing. I’ve been trying to find Frikadelle in COS, and finally found a place that has it! Lunchtime only though. The red cabbage was perfect. Came with fried potatoes as well! My wife got the Jaeger Schnitzel. Got TWO pieces. Just like Germany! The Apple strudel was so good. Perfect for an end to a perfect meal.
Please do make reservations though!

Great little German restaurant with cool servers and awesome food. The menu is small but the meal I had (daily special) and my friend meal were both yummy. My buddy, enjoyed his meal and the plate was very clean when the server, took his plate away.
I was very satisfied with the special and I also had cheesecake that was actually really good.
Give the place a shot, the atmosphere is very simple but the workers friendliness and excellent service made the donning experience delightful.

We walked into the spot and my husband said feels like Germany, the atmosphere was of a mom-and-pop shop on every corner in Bavaria. Portions were larger than expected and the food was amazing. It was our first time there but will not be our last….

Considering the location and the looks of the building and surrounding businesses, I must admit I was a bit worried when I made the reservations. You must make reservations or you might not get a chance to try this Colorado Springs hidden gem. We pulled up and earlier in the day, what was once a deserted parking lot at an old run-down mini-mall, had suddenly come to life. Cars filled the lot and when we walked through the doors, it was like entering another world vastly different from outside. There was a soft glow in a small but quaint German-style restaurant. The German-accented waitress greeted us at the door as soon as we walked in. She welcomed us as she showed us to our table. There are no booths here. After ordering our drinks, she returned promptly to take our orders. The restaurant was not very big but every table was filled. But after having our dinners, it does not surprise me. The food was fresh, hot, and so so good. In fact, we started to devour our food no sooner than she set it down. I didn’t think to get pictures. Sorry folks. The schnitzel was awesome, and the veal Cordon Bleu was excellent! And of course, the bratwurst was the bomb as well. The dinners all came with fried potatoes and soup or salad. The desserts were also top-notch; apple pie Ala mode and cheesecake drizzled in chocolate syrup. My belly was super full! I had to consciously save a bit for my pup who was sitting at home waiting. If I hadn’t, I’d have eaten every bite. I highly recommend this place! It sits behind the old Montgomery Wards, now the Social Security building off Pikes Peak ave. on Iowa st. Hours are split. They are open from 11-1:30 for lunch and then reopen from 5:30-8:00 for dinner. They do serve german wines and beer, along with German style coffee. Or you can just order a good old-fashioned Coke.

Rude. The level of rudeness of the staff was appalling. Now I will preface this by saying I can’t speak to the food because the elderly lady with the white shoulder length hair was so overly rude that we left without ordering because it was that bad.
My husband and I showed up around 11:30am for a spur of the moment valentines lunch. As we walked in and were greeted we even prefaced our request for a table by saying that we were just stopping by to see if a table was available and we did not have a reservation and that we would completely understand if with it being Valentine’s Day they were full or if we needed to come back another time. The elderly lady who greeted us felt the need to remind us, despite us already saying we understood we didn’t have a reservation and we knew what day it was, that it was Valentine’s Day and that we should have made a reservation. Ok lady, understood, we said it first. But we smiled politely as she huffed and told us to wait that she would go check.
Now she could have just said at any point thus far that they were simply full. We would have had no issue, and probably would have made arrangements to try the restaurant another time. However….. that didn’t happen.
Instead, She came back and said they did have a table for two and to follow her. Ok great, we got lucky, right? No… we did not, because the entire walk back to the table she scolded us for coming to the restaurant without reservations. Lady, you could have just said we needed reservations and that would have been the end of it, no harm done. But no, instead we were scolded as she repeatedly said it’s Valentine’s Day and who doesn’t make reservations etc. On top of that as she seated us she told us that it was 11:45 and she would need our table back by 12:15. I think my jaw literally dropped as I sat down speechless. That is under 30 minutes to order and eat. As she walked away she was still muttering about it being Valentine’s Day.
At this point due to the level of rudeness and being completely unnecessarily rebuked and lectured, especially after we had made it abundantly clear from the beginning that we were more than willing to come back or make a reservation for another time, was so upsetting and offensive that I didn’t even open my menu. We didn’t wait for the server to come. We simply left and I will never return to this restaurant. I don’t care if your food is sprinkled with magical unicorn dust, I will not be trying it. I do not patron establishments that think it’s acceptable in any way shape or form to belittle customers, to be completely rude, to lecture and scold under the pretense of accommodation. That is not acceptable and it’s not accommodating, it’s simply rude.
So keep your table, we went down the street to the other German restaurant where I would recommend everyone go instead of Uwe, because that restaurant was wonderful and this restaurant was beyond insulting and rude.
