We have catered few times from Royal Indian Cuisine but this time decided to dine for dinner!
Got seated immediately and a nice Nepali waitress welcomed us! The vibe is nothing fancy just a simple dine in Desi restaurant with Indian music on the background. Our waitress served us some
masala chai and Alu Tikki on the house. ( We figured this later when the bill came. Thank you it was a nice surprise.)
Since it’s a Nepali owned restaurant we asked them if they had Momo and they did! So we got the chicken steam Momo with Keema Naan and Chicken Hakka Noodles. The masala and spice was less with simple flavors like any Nepali household. It was like home cooked flavors.
The food was fresh and came hot. I loved the noodles and naan. The Mo:Mo was okay, like any other Nepali restaurant they were frozen and steamed later! But the chutney did the magic for Mo:Mo. We got some extra chutney for to go!
Would love to come back and try some curry and Naan items. If you like Indian food with minimal spice and solid flavors, give this place a try! We didn’t feel bloated or anything that night so we knew the food quality of the food was good. Good luck.

One of the best Indian cuisine in the Troy/Rochester. Great value for your money. Restaurant is solid but does look a little older (nothing wrong with that though). The chicken was great and had a solid taste the gobi was very nice and spiced right.

Very enjoyable experience, everyone had a great meal. My 19 year old daughter wanted to go here for her birthday dinner. Out of the whole group I was the only one who didn’t get a chicken dish and the only one who was brave enough to get something spicy. The nice thing about the way they serve the dishes it was easy to share and try each other’s main course. The naan bread that came with the main course was very good and everyone had no problem having second helpings. Now not for everyone, if you know you enjoy Indian food this place is a nice place for a sit down lunch or dinner.

Years ago I used to come to this restaurant every week even though I live 45 minutes away. back then the food was amazing but yesterday 16/Apr/24 the food and service was just terrible. I got chicken korma and I understand having a business is about making money but literally they served me boiled chicken cubes with the sauce on top. Surprisingly my gf got butter chicken and was the same boiled chicken with the tomato sauce on top. They might do that to speed up the process but ruining the food like that come on. The korma sauce was so pale and didn’t even taste like cashew sauce. Completely disappointed with the service as well. Years ago if I was out of rice or soda they would immediately refill it but yesterday I put my empty soda cup at the edge of the table and she walked by it several times and when she finally stopped at the table was to ask me if I wanted boxes. Look at the korma I got served compared to a regular korma.

The food here was great! The buffet was clean, the food was fresh, and replenished often. The servers were very nice and friendly. The restaurant was clean and very quiet. And best of all, the lunch buffet was less than $10 a person. Overall, great place and def worth checking out!

Really good food, great place for hanging out with friends and family, service is really good. Staffs are quite friendly and courteous. The turn around time after placing order is decent enough. Price is also decent. Place is clean. And there is ample parking space.
Can get some Nepali food too!

I called and ordered a chicken biryani and a lamb curry to go. The staff was nice and professional.
The food was good, but it wasn’t the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The chicken biryani didn’t really have a good spice/flavor going on. The lamb curry was great.
I will definitely come back and try out other dishes.

I had high hopes for Royal Indian Cuisine, but the buffet was a huge letdown. The number of food items was very limited — definitely not worth the price. Shockingly, there was no biryani, which is a staple in Indian buffets. The food that was available lacked flavor and tasted bland.
The desserts were stale, and most of the food was cold, like it had been sitting out for a long time. Overall, the quality was very poor, and I felt like it was a waste of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Indian dining experience.
