The evening began with the Pretty in Pink mocktail. Pineapple, grenadine, grapefruit, and faba combined for something fresh, bright, and lightly creamy. It felt indulgent yet balanced, the kind of drink that wakes up your palate without being too sweet.
Next came Beech Please! with pineapple, orange, lime, orgeat, and grenadine. The flavor leaned tropical and sunny, a mix of citrus and sweetness that felt like a short escape to the islands.
The Whipped Feta followed, served with herb and garlic-infused oil and warm ciabatta. However good you expect this appetizer to be, it’s even better. The feta was rich and silky, perfectly offset by the fragrant oil and crusty bread.
Then the standout arrived: Blackened Salmon with blue crab, house-made spaghetti, Calabrian cream, and asparagus. The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium, tender and flavorful. The Calabrian cream tied everything together beautifully, creating a dish that was both comforting and refined.
Service was exceptional. Emily, the manager, along with servers Kyle and Patrick, made the evening smooth and welcoming. Benchmark continues to prove why it’s one of the best dining experiences in Perrysburg.
Opened in 2017, Benchmark has been a cornerstone of chef Jeff Dinnebeil’s vision to raise the bar for Northwest Ohio dining. It’s more than a steakhouse, combining chef-driven technique, hand-cut meats, and seasonal ingredients with a 195-bottle wine list. After a brief closure in 2023 due to fire damage, Benchmark returned stronger and more confident, reaffirming its place as a leader in modern Midwest fine dining.
