Everytime come out the play place is filthy. I had to ask a member of the staff to clean the table we found and they never came. I had to ask again and finally someone came in to clean the play place tables and mop the floor. Took him over an hour to clean. While he was cleaning, he was cussing and stating that he didn’t want to be there. Poor leadership and poor location.

Waiting 30 minutes to get through the DT. Get home and realize the large fry is not and never is a large fry. Everything else was fine. The guy that works the 2nd window at night is extremely slowww and moves at 1 speed.

Anytime I go to this location or order from here, they always forget things. They’ve completely forgotten meals, drinks, and sauces. They don’t even give us straws in drive thru. There is only 1 person that I’ve never had a problem with on missing items or modifications, but I rarely go here anymore so I can’t even give his name. I do nott recommend this location.

This McDonald’s has the slowest and worst service! I only go about onceevery 6 months for my 9 year old who loves McDonald’s. Each time we wait and get asked to pull forward to park and wait more. More times than not the order is wrong. So disappointing.

It is entirely unacceptable for a McDonald’s to close ten minutes before the advertised time, especially after customer service has already been initiated, leading to a frustrating and disrespectful experience. When an establishment publicly advertises specific operating hours, customers form a reasonable expectation that service will be available up to that closing time. To arrive before the stated closing, place an order, and then be denied service while actively waiting at the pick-up window constitutes a profound failure in basic customer commitment and operational integrity.
The core issue lies in the breach of the implicit contract between the business and the consumer. Patrons rely on the posted schedule; ten minutes can make a critical difference, especially for those seeking a quick, late-night meal. Denying service abruptly, particularly after the customer has already invested time in the queue and moved to the final service point, is not merely an inconvenience—it’s a conscious decision by the staff to prioritize an early closure over their final responsibilities to the public. The perceived ease of telling a customer at the window, who has already ordered or is awaiting their food, that the store is now “closed” demonstrates a stark lack of professional accountability and empathy.
Furthermore, the duration the customer spent waiting at the window—described as “forever”—exacerbates the situation considerably. This suggests that the decision to close early was either made while the customer was already in line, or the staff intentionally delayed communication, leaving the patron stranded. This wasted time is irretrievable, turning a simple transaction into a deeply negative experience. The staff was aware of the customer’s presence and their need for service; to then withhold it is a disrespectful act that devalues the customer’s time and choice to patronize that specific location.
This level of service failure reflects poorly on the McDonald’s franchise and the global brand. While employees may have valid reasons for wanting to leave on time—or even early—those personal preferences cannot supersede the company’s publicly stated commitment to service hours. Efficient operations mean managing the queue and orders so that the final customer before the closing time is served, allowing for proper closing procedures after the last transaction. Closing doors while customers are actively at the window signals poor management, inadequate staffing protocols, or simply a dismissive attitude toward the late-night clientele who rely on these extended hours.
Ultimately, a corporation of McDonald’s size must uphold a strict standard of operational excellence. The act of closing early and refusing service at the window is a preventable oversight that tarnishes the brand’s reputation for convenience and consistency. Customers deserve to be served as long as they arrive and initiate service before the advertised closing time. The ten-minute early closure, compounded by the prolonged, silent refusal of service at the window, makes this incident truly unacceptable and warrants immediate corrective action from management.

Went through the drive-thru today to get my son a large Big Mac meal with a large strawberry banana smoothie. Everything was fine until they asked me to pull up to wait on the food. After about 10 minutes they brought the food and when we got home, there was a small fry in the bag! None of their meals even come with a small fry and we were supposed to get a large. This McDonald’s in notorious for being super slow when they are busy too. Wish we had another McDonald’s in town to go to.

Horrible service, just a few minutes ago. I was instructed to pull up after we received a kids meal, I ordered a quarter pounder and apple pie I pull up and 5 minutes later no one, so I walked in and ask for my food young kids are playing and doing nothing, I haf enough time to use the bathroom and my food was still not ready. We’ll Atlanta they threw in some cold fries to go.

For the last couple years the fries have been trash. They arent cooked long enough and has hardly any salt. They are almost like mush in a fries box. Today I go and get fried and 10piece nuggets, the fries are as usual, not good at all and the nuggets not even crispy. Then the guys handing the food to me arguing about what the screen says. Get it together Athens McDonald please! The best McDonald’s is the one in the Tyler Walmart over by IHOP. Just a suggestion, maybe call them and ask how long they cook their food for and how they salt their fries. It’s just a waste of money for nuggets and definitely fries in Athens. Which sucks because the fries are suppose to be the best part
