I was in Cincinnati for work and Shanghai on Elm was right by my hotel. The food was amazing! I think I ended up getting food from there at least 5 times during my trip. The teriyaki chicken was amazing, and I really enjoyed the crispy chicken compared to the traditional grilled chicken. I also tried the sweet and sour chicken and the sesame chicken during my other meals and everything was delicious. I both dined-in and got takeout. The portions are generous, and my takeout was just as delicious as when I dined in. The dining room has a nice relaxed vibe, and the staff are all really nice and great at recommending dishes to try. The lychee martini is top notch too. If I ever find myself in Cincinnati again I will definitely be back!

I ordered through UberEats quite a few times. The chicken fried rice is some of the best fried rice I’ve had. I tried the Singapore Noodles and I don’t think I’ll eat anything else (jk, I love trying different dishes) but seriously it was that good. So flavorful, I didn’t eat it all in one sitting so when I came back to it, it had even more flavor! Whatever you decide to order I am positive you won’t be disappointed.

I used to frequent Shanghai Mama’s back in their old location, because the service and food were always great. I recently discovered Shanghai on Elm which is their new location and name, and the food seems to only have gotten better. I ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Big Noodle Soup Bowl and was able to customize it by adding some of my favorite items. It was not only delicious but was enough food for two meals. Will definitely be frequenting this spot once again.

Disappointed. It was just ok – not inspired. There are many other options for this style of food at lower cost. I would skip & try someplace else. The service was great, though!

So I love the food soooo much, but I found a bug and a random floating object in my drink. Makes me sad ugh. Not sure if I want to eat the food now…..//

I went in here one night after work. It was pouring rain. I sat at the bar and had the spicy mango pineapple margarita. I ordered and my food came out quick. It was hot and delicious. It’s nice that their kitchen is open late. I’ll definitely be back. The bartenders were great they had me cracking up.

We’ve eaten here before at its prior location and when it was called Shanghai Mamas and very much enjoyed it. This recent outing was mixed.
The stir fry dish was average, absolutely typical but fine.
The wontons in chili oil were very good.
The dish I came for though just wasn’t good at all. I ordered Shanghai scallops. It seemed as if scallops and vegetables were cooked together, and so scallops were very very chewy and overcooked while the vegetables were nearly raw. I appreciate an al dente vegetable, but this was beyond that. Scallops were either steamed by the broth and kept hot too long or were boiled with the vegetables. They need quickly seared and not put in broth until it cools a bit.
It may just be a matter of ordering the right thing. Like I said, wontons in chili oil were very good.
