In 1972, Houlihan’s – an American restaurant – first opened its doors in Kansas City serving quality food and drinks. At Houlihan’s, we cook from scratch and purchase products you don’t find in most casual restaurants due to higher quality and therefore, cost, but our guests are discerning and know the difference is worth it. Because life’s too short to eat mediocre food. Our menu features center-cut steaks, oven-baked flatbreads and artisan salads and sandwiches, along with an interesting, everyday wine and cocktail selection. We offer many dishes in both small and large portions and are dedicated to developing menu options that address ever-evolving consumer lifestyles.

Not the same since COVID. Service was poor. My wife complained about her meal and the manager never came to ask about it. Very unusual. My meal was OK and my wife’s scallops were not great and my salad was dry. Didn’t seem to be managed properly this evening.

8/2/19 – Went to Houlihan’s for lunch with my wife. The food is ok but I really can’t tell the difference between this place and Chili’s or TGI Fridays. The menu and atmosphere are not distinguishable between these restaurants. That said… We were seated quickly. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. There was ample parking.

We’ve never been disappointed when we go here. Food is always great and so is the service. Its It’s such a pleasure when things are consistent. Recently visited during COVID-19/outdoor seating and they honestly kept everything up to par. We genuinely enjoyed ourselves and the waitress was so attentive and friendly. Not to mention the food was delicious!

We went on Labor Day weekend for my wife’s birthday, not busy and were seated right away. Drink order and appetizer order were fine. Apps and soups come out, no utensils or small dishes to eat with, no straws a bit after getting drinks. Waitress asking me when to put in the dinner order, never been asked that before. This has been our most visited restaurant for 10 yrs, maybe one bad experience previously. Soup was 1/2 cold, 1/2 warm. Dinners brought out after maybe 45 min but not my fajita meat, nobody checked on us for 25 min or brought that until after everyone else was done eating. Drinks were empty by then too, having never been checked. My son gets ice cream with kids meal, we order 2 brownie sundaes “to go” so they bring one out made to eat, looks great but on a dish. Waitress takes that back and puts in container, comes out- where’s the 2nd one? Goes back, brings that out in a container. Then we spend another 10-15 minutes dealing with the check that should have happened while our desserts were prepared, instead they are melting quickly. They used to separate the hot brownie, the ice cream and whipped cream & cherry in separate containers. No cherries, one had no whipped cream and all of it was a sloppy mess after a 10 minute drive home. We had a $15 birthday offer or a 20% off meal offer which is why we went, but it was a horrible experience.
