Food is fresh with daily market catch.
Grill of the day sandwich was fresh, hot and delicious. Tortilla was perfectly crispy and not oily.
Usually busy and long wait in prime times.
Once you’re seated, you need to go to another line to order food. No table service.
Service is relatively quick after you’re seated and ordered .
Limited indoor tables. Patio seating are heated and vast.
Limited parking in the plaza but spots available in other close by plaza.
Accessible with flat entry and wide pathways.
Will come back for the sandwiches!
This is a fantastic destination for anyone looking for elevated, sustainable seafood in a relaxed setting. The quality of the fish is evident in every bite, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in sourcing and preparation. It was really good across the board, and the flavors are bright, clean, and perfectly seasoned. It has that great Northern California coastal vibe that makes a meal feel like a mini-vacation.
The Poke Tacos Live Up to the Hype
If you are coming here for the first time, you have to try the signature items.
Must-Order Tacos: The poke tacos lived up to the hype completely. The shells are crisp, the fish is incredibly fresh, and the toppings provide a perfect balance of textures. They are easily some of the best in the Bay Area.
Friendly Service: The staff are friendly and helpful, even when the line is out the door. They do a great job of keeping things moving and maintaining a positive energy in the dining area.
Consistent Quality: Whether you are getting a burrito, a salad, or the tacos, the food is good and consistent every time.
Logistics: Parking and Wait Times
Because this is such a popular local staple, there are some logistical things to keep in mind for your visit.
Plan for the Crowd: The only con is there is a long wait for tables, especially on weekends or sunny afternoons. The seating area is popular and fills up quickly, so plan accordingly if you are hungry and don’t want to stand around for too long.
Convenient Parking: There is a small parking lot which is nice, as finding street parking in this part of Mill Valley can sometimes be a struggle. However, like the tables, the lot fills up fast, so having a backup plan for parking is a good idea.
A Great Atmosphere for Socializing
The setup—often shared with a beer garden vibe—is perfect for a casual hang with friends or family. It’s an open, breezy environment that fits the Mill Valley aesthetic perfectly. Even with the crowds, the atmosphere remains laid-back and welcoming.
Final Thoughts and Recap
To recap, this is a premier spot for seafood lovers where the poke tacos are a genuine standout. While you should be prepared for the long wait for tables and a potentially crowded small parking lot, the end result is really good food served by a friendly staff. It is a 5-star experience for the food alone, and the vibrant local atmosphere makes it well worth the trip.
We loved the grapefruit taste in the ceviche and we even threw some of the house hot sauce in to add a little spice. The poke was very tender and one of my favorite poke dishes that I have had. The fish sandwiches looked amazing, I will be trying one next time I’m here!
The menu is quite limited and the portions are small, though very simple cooking, but the fresh fish and ingredients make a big different.
Will be back if I’m in SF
besides the rice, the food was really good. my favorite has to be the grilled fish of the day. it is dog friendly. kid friendly. the service is more like a fast food service. you order and pay at the cashier area. you get your own water at the water area but they do serve other drinks.
it was a new experience and our dog got to go inside with us
Our 2 entrees and a drink were ~$45
