I surprised my husband for his 52nd birthday bringing the restaurant home! Isabel, the Mgr. prepared me a starter plate with a huge variety of croquetas, shrimps, fish, squid & malanga frites with a 4 pax paella that was actually enough to feed double that amount of people. As usual everything was excellent and presentable enough to pretend we had an in house Floridita.
My husband was very pleased and our friends were amazed with the quality and fair pricing.
We highly recommend Floridita of Kendall as a charming family place to enjoy fresh seafood, a huge selection of wines and the unbeatable friendly service by a Cuban staff.
We are Cuban Americans hospitality professionals who lived in Spain and enjoy our traditions deeply. El Floridita de Kendall is a must for anyone who enjoys our flavors and a quality service.

Hoping to be there again pretty soon,

Mabel & Erich

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Woah. That was the best blackened salmon I’ve ever had! I went to El Floridita Seafood Restaurant for dinner after a quick visit with Lujan Motorsports. If you’re ever in Miami and you like seafood, I highly recommend Floridita! (They have three locations)

El Floridita Seafood was a great seafood pick the food is fresh, flavorful, and cooked with a lot of care. Every dish we tried had bold seasoning and generous portions.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, almost like a neighborhood spot where everyone feels welcome. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right.

If you’re craving seafood that tastes authentic and satisfying without being overcomplicated, this is definitely the place to go. Great food, great service, and the kind of experience that makes you want to come back again soon. And almost forgot the prices are awesome !

Fresh seafood Cuban style dinner!
Located in Kendall with two other restaurants in Miami are, El Floridita has an extensive menu of seafood and non seafood items also offering a reasonable number of vegetarian options.
We arrived a little before 7 pm and the place was mostly empty and were immediately assisted by the establishment very efficient and polite staff.
Patrons can look and pick the seafood of their preference which is displayed with plenty of ice. Our server also brought me the red snapper I chose so I could check the freshness prior to frying.
We ordered a Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc for our wine of the night and mussels seasoned with garlic for our appetizer. It was good.
Our dishes came just a few minutes after that: a whole fried red snapper, largo filet and penne pasta with lobster.
The fish dishes had Cuban black beans and yellow rice as sides. The rice was ok and the beans were delicious.
My red snapper was excellent and as I’ve also tasted the other dishes I can say it was a standout of the dinner. Flaky but with a touch of firmness and seasoned to perfection.
Pasta lobster was very good as far as the seafood component and its sauce. The pasta itself (penne) was al dente but not memorable.
We had cream brûlée and a bread pudding as desserts. Good closing items for our meal.
The atmosphere of the establishment is simple but inviting. Place look spotless clean to my eyes and kid/family friendly. Near our both a table with a family was celebrating one of their children birthday. The staff made sure to bring her cake and sang happy birthday.
I give El Floridita 4.5 stars and recommend the establishment for offering fresh high quality seafood and for the efficiency of their staff.

Food and service was great. However when ordering foods that are priced by pound they don’t ask what is wanted automatically bring the largest and obviously the most expensive. Should have better communication for customers sake.

This is a hard review to put into words because I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The #1 combo of Blackened Fish with rice and black beans was a tasty, filling, and cheap meal. Half priced beers at happy hour were also appreciated.

The problem though is the service and atmosphere. There is no clear entry into the restaurant and approaching the group of employees outside resulted in a “sit anywhere” and a shoulder shrug, after a long wait, someone from inside came to ask for my drink.

Then me asking which beers were on tap got confused with ordering tapas and resulted in unnecessary frustration, just to be told all beer is in bottles. That seems strange for the image they present with their waitstaff, they should have beer on tap.

My food came in a timely manner but the serving of beans ended up being mostly a cup of bean juice. When serving a dish with such a nice piece of fish, why skimp on 20 cents of beans? The server did attempt to fix this but the next bowl of beans hardly had anymore than the last.

In my opinion, this place just needs to figure out what they want to be. They have $15 dishes on the same menu as $100 dishes. $3 beers served by waiters in formal attire and poured like wine for you. A plethora of fancy looking waitstaff and then subpar service. If this would have been an order at the counter and take a buzzer kind of place, it would be a 5 star review. But the experience I received does not match with what they look like they’re trying to be.

It’s a little different than you may think when going to other places in the country. Mostly Cuban staff that try to make you comfortable even if you don’t speak Spanish. Great, friendly people. Outside it sorta looks casual but waiters wear suites. No actual main entrance with a hostess. But it’s probably the same in the area. Really eloquent for a date or family. Nice friendly place. Excellent food at a good price for the area. I’ll go there again the next time I’m in the area.
