I recently visited Rooster and Crow and had a pretty decent experience overall. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy vibe that makes it a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The décor was casual, which worked well for both small groups and date nights. The food was good, though not particularly memorable. The menu had a nice variety of options, and everything we ordered was prepared well and came out in a reasonable amount of time. Some dishes stood out more than others, but overall the flavors were solid and satisfying. Service was friendly and polite, though a bit slow at times. The staff seemed attentive, but there were moments where we had to wait longer than expected for refills and the check. Overall, Roster and Crow is a decent place to dine. It may not be extraordinary, but it offers good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and fair service. I’d consider going back, especially if I’m in the area and looking for a relaxed meal.

A delightful gem Rooster & The Crow is in the heart of Wilmington! My friend and I stumbled upon this cozy spot on a sunny afternoon, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warmest vibes and the mouthwatering aroma of Southern comfort food. The place buzzes with energy—think rustic charm meets lively chatter, with colorful murals and comfy booths that make you feel right at home. We couldn’t wait to dive in!
We started with the star of the show: the burger. Juicy, perfectly seasoned beef piled high with fresh toppings, all nestled in a fluffy bun that held together like a dream. It was hands-down the best burger we’ve ever sunk our teeth into—flavor explosion in every bite! But wait, the fried chicken? Absolute perfection! Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, with that golden crunch that had us grinning ear to ear. We polished off every last morsel, declaring it the champion of all fried chickens we’ve encountered. Paired with their zesty sides and a cold drink, it was pure bliss on a plate.
And let’s give a huge shoutout to Whitney, our incredible bartender! She was an absolute ray of sunshine—whipping up cocktails with flair, recommending the perfect pairings, and keeping the laughs coming with her witty banter. Whitney made us feel like old pals, turning a great meal into an unforgettable hangout. Her energy is contagious; she’s truly the best in the biz!
Rooster & The Crow isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a joyful escape where food, fun, and fantastic service collide. If you’re in Wilmington, run—don’t walk—to this spot. You’ll leave with a full belly and a huge smile. Five stars all the way! We will be back!!! Highly recommend!!!

No Sauce Required
They offered heat in a bottle.
A familiar red companion.
A promise of fire.
Then, I declined.
Because when something is crafted well,
it deserves to speak in its own voice.
The crust held no arrogance of spice.
No theatrical burn.
It did not shout.
Then, it whispered.
A clean crack beneath the teeth.
A sound like thin ice breaking in winter.
Then, tenderness.
Juice gathered without flooding.
Flavor without excess salt.
Then, Balance.

It was a quick stop in Wilmington NC and a very pleasant surprise to eat here. Because I’m outta town we ask for suggestions, I have the willy grilled chicken sandwich, full of taste and really well put together, it’s for sure my returning call. My daughter had the grilled chicken with Caesar salad, just perfect, full of flavor and the dressing was delicious… Two really great options.

Such an amazing restaurant! My boyfriend and I LOVED eating here – the burger and fried chicken were both delicious. I also loved my drink (I don’t remember the name sadly but it was one of their cocktails) and the sides and salad! I would LOVE to come back here!!

On vacation and decided to stop here for lunch and we really liked it. We were seated in The Nest area, so cute and cozy in there. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. My son had the brisket mac & cheese and I can honestly say that was delicious and with the price. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and my daughter had a fried chicken sandwich. They were good but honestly nothing special and not worth the price. The fries were really good, cooked perfectly and seasoned really well.

What a great surprise! Our original dinner spot was closed, so we ended up at the Rooster and Crow—and I’m so glad we did. The service was excellent, and the food was even better. The fried chicken was hands down the best I’ve ever had, with collards and grits that were spot-on. My husband had the fried chicken with collards and potato salad, and his plate was just as good. Fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back, and I’m already recommending it to friends!

The place is cozy, and the ambiance makes it look spectacular. The first time I went there, the service was nice, I ordered to go since the apartment was right across the street, as it was a business trip. I ordered the Crow’s Call with the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, and it was good. So I went the next day because I liked the place and I wouldn’t have to walk around guessing for another place to eat. By the way, the girl who served me was very nice and attentive (I didn’t ask her name, but the receipt said Abi) she recognized me and even remembered my name . This time, I ordered the loaded nachos and asked to add chicken, also to go. To my surprise, they didn’t serve me the chicken, so unfortunately, I was left with half of the experience. Still, I think it’s a good place to dine.

So happy my son picked the Rooster & The crow for Mother’s Day Brunch! The host who seated us was was very friendly it definitely starts at the front door and sometimes can make her break a meal for sure! Millie was our server and she was just the best. Great service knowledgeable, so friendly patient and kind. Thank you Millie ! I think I had one of the best cocktails in a very long time. I believe it was called the tequila Daisy. I have eaten here for dinner a few times, but never for brunch. Definitely a winner. Will be back for sure. One of my favorites in downtown Wilmington!!
