Came for my Grandmaws 89th birthday last night. My wife myself and my two young kinds. I ordered a hamburger steak and onion rings which was an up charge. My wife got a combination plate flounder and shrimp. My son got a corn dog and my other son got the children’s flounder. Every single plate was ice cold. My hamburger steak was a hamburger patty with no gravy no onions or anything. Told the waitress she offered to have all the food remade. I told her I couldn’t wait to have all 4 plates remade as I had two young kids that needed to get home for baths and bed. She said sorry. I went to pay and the lady at the register asked how the food was. I explained that I couldn’t tell her because it was ice cold and none of us touched our food besides my son who obviously didn’t care about his corn dog being cold. She said I’m sorry and proceeded to ring me up. 48$ didn’t take anything off the bill. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I said no mam. (I had cash I was planning to leave on the table) she proceeded to tell me just because my food was cold I should not leave the waitress a tip. I proceeded to tell her (Mam did I say I wasn’t going to leave a tip) she had no response and ran my card and we left. 48$ for cold fish, hamburger steak, onion rings and fries. Terrible experience.

food was good despite the proximity to the sea. Lacked options on menu for seafood lovers. Great service very friendly staff.

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to Captain ‘s Cap. A very busy place. We got there around 5 and was seated quickly. The 4 of us ordered and in hardly no time our dinner arrived. Everything was very good. We won’t wait so long for our next visit.

Catfish fillets were really good, wife ordered steak tips which were also really good. Didn’t care much for the fried pickles though. Everything else was fantastic.

Salad bar was pretty good. Surprised how lacking in portions the $17.50 3-combo plate was. 4-5 scallops and shrimp, 3 perch filets and the side of onion rings. Contently filming but certainly expected more for the price.

Tge food was Amazing & the portions are GIANT! They pile those plate high with all the hood stuff! It’s always fresh & hot! & THE HUSHPUPPIES…. Those things are DELECTABLE!
One thing I love Love LOVE is their in-house-made Cocktail Sauce! Now thst I’m older, I just can’t handle spicy (hot) foods, but I’ve always loved Cocktail Sauce. Shrimp Cocktail is The Best… But even the Tiny jars you used to could find in Grocery Stores are still too hot for me. But Captain’s Cap’s Cocktail Sauce is FABULOUS!!! In my opinion, ihas ALL the Epic Flavors; Just without “The Burn!” Their Tarter Sauce is Awesome too! I dip EVERYTHING in one of them & Sometimes both! LOL!

Great fish camp in Gastonia. Food and service is good. They also have a really good salad bar. Whenever I am in Gastonia and I want some good seafood I will visit the Captain!

Outstanding service and food here, very impressed! The price is hard to beat, and it is clearly a favorite of the local crowd – always a good sign. The batter in particular was very well made, not too thick or overly salted.
