The cutest decor inside, the atmosphere feels very authentic Thailand. Reminds me of Pattaya! The food is so good, it’s actually spicy ️ when you ask for it. The food was incredible and the service was so friendly and fast! They’re so kind and attentive here. Absolutely amazing, we will be back here next time we visit York!

We visited for the first time on a Friday night and only waited about five minutes outside before being seated. The menu is packed with dishes that Thai locals typically order back home, offering truly authentic Thai/Isaan street food. They also serve a wide variety of noodle soups that Thai people eat daily—something only a handful of Thai restaurants in the UK include on their menus. That’s what makes this place feel extra special and genuinely Thai.
We enjoyed it so much that we came back for a second visit. I’ve given four stars for service because, on both occasions, we didn’t receive exactly what we ordered. The first time, we asked for a pint of Singha but were given a small bottle instead. The second time, we ordered Coke Zero and received regular Coke.
That said, the atmosphere is incredibly authentic, with décor that feels as though it’s been lifted straight from the streets of Thailand.

Lovely staff and atmosphere, fantastic food and drink! We went 2 days in a row, as the first trip was so good! The first time we tried the bao buns, salt and pepper chips, pork noodle soup, mango sticky rice, fried banana dessert, grape soda with lychee boba and Thai pink milk. The highlights were the banana dessert and pink milk, both well worth a try! The fruit was all fresh and very flavourful too.
The second visit, we tried the wonton soup and some different baos, which were just as great! The pork belly and Sriracha bao was the favourite.
Zaap also introduced us to T-pop, which was a lot of fun to listen to while eating!
I would recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Fab food made fresh to order – hot tasting food, and simple fresh ingredients. Service was fun and friendly – sometimes a little slow. The food is authentic and not English style Thai – the menu is a little perplexing at first – but lots of choice and we had a fab meal.

Came back here for a second time to order the same dishes. Amazing steamed sea bass with chilli, lime, and coriander broth, and sticky rice. And the Bangkok platter and sweetcorn cakes to start. Delicious! Will definitely be coming back when we’re next in York.

Pretty disappointing – and it’s pretty rare that I say that!
The food was mostly good when it eventually arrived: we had been in the restaurant for 45 minutes before 3 of the meals arrived; another 10 for one of them; and the last was roughly another 10 minutes more. Two of us had finished by the time the last meal arrived. A couple of waiters apologised afterwards, but still left a 7.5% service charge on the bill. I paid it as I figured the delay wasn’t their fault.
Having said that, comments on the dishes included: too dry; and not much flavour. Having said that, my pork belly pad thai was enjoyable. When asked for ratings, usually positive family members rated it as 3-3.5.
We probably won’t be back.

Genuinely incredible food and amazing staff who are very helpful and kind! We got the tom yum with chicken, roasted duck with rice, bao buns, Thai milk tea and honeydew melon tea.
The bao buns (satay and mango) were incredible, it was my first time trying! The tom yum was really balanced, perfectly spicy and sour, the roasted duck was delicious and came with a lovely garlic sauce! Personally, this was the best Thai milk tea I have had from any Thai place. We also got mango sticky rice which had perfectly ripe mango and sweet rice! Will definitely come back again it’s the best Thai food in York!!

Today was my first time trying ZAAP as my birthday meal with my family . Have to say was an amazing time lovely service , staff very friendly and paid attention to our table well . The food came in very fast and tastier fresh and hot , the portion says was very big surprisingly they all hit the spot in terms o flavour. Overall it was a very first time experience definitely will be coming here again for future meals and would highly recommend it to my friends and family .
