Mexican Fiesta – Hartland

  4.2 – 1,707 reviews   • Mexican restaurant

Social Profile:

It all started in 1962 with Sam and Frances Alvarado’s dream in a small location in Dearborn Heights. With a lot of hard work that location steadily grew and so did the Alvarado Family. Four generations and three locations later, we are still here providing that same great Mexican food that many people have grown to love. We are proud of our past and our family and we hope that it shows in our food and services. Thanks to your continued support and preference, we have been serving delicious Mexican food for the people of Metro Detroit for over 50 years!

Relaxed, lively fixture with Mexican fare & some American options, plus food & drink specials.

Very American. The chicken tasted like canned meat. Enchiladas were dry and need more sauce. They had more cheese on top than meat on the inside. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not the place for you! Waitress was nice.

Wait staff were nice! Food came out quite fast but the food was maybe the most bland I’ve ever had. Not authentic Mexican, that’s for sure!

11/15/24 our 1st time here. We were greeted and seated quickly. All the staff we encountered were pleasant. They offered complimentary chips and salsa both hot and mild. Very good salsa! Chips were fresh out of the oil and while crisp were still oily.
I ordered bean and cheese burritos with beans for side dish, the other order was beef enchiladas with rice and beans. All food was brought hot and quickly. The beans didn’t have the authentic smokey flavor we are used to, they tasted like canned. My burritos were the same except had a cheese melted on top. No sauce.
The enchiladas were made very simply as well, the rice was lacking Spanish flavoring. I’ll give them 5 stars for employees and the restaurant being very clean. The food I can’t, it was hot temperature wise when brought to the table. But I have made better at home. Sorry but that’s how we felt. We were passing through, don’t live in the area.

The people who run this place probably believe that Cinco de Mayo is a true Mexican celebration. I have dined at many authentic Mexican restaurants, but I won’t recommend anyone come here.

I ordered the taco salad but it was more like ground meat topped with standard American version salad items. The avocado on top was pretty much tasteless. The overuse of green and black olives overwhelmed the salad entirely. I think they must have gotten cooks from Taco Bell.

It’s funny that a Mexican Restaurant is playing non-spanish music. You can tell if an ethnic-inspired restaurant is authentic by having the customer base include many people of that ethnicity. Not here! My wife is Costa Rican but we came because we saw a sign on the highway. She said her food was tasteless also.

Many of the unsupervised workers weren’t caring for customers. Poor managers!

Service was good but food was bland and was definitely not authentic. Unfortunately not a Mexican in sight, not even to supervise. It should be called Gringo Fiesta! LOL
Also love how they charge 3.8% for electronic payment calling it a convenience fee.. Both local authentic Mexican restaurants don’t participate in that nonsense. Imagine a suburb Leo’s that serves only Mexican.. That’s this place.

Love this place. The restaurant always seems to be very busy, so expect a little wait (usually no more than 15 minutes). The restaurant is always clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. You get free chips and two different salsas, one regular and one hot. The hot has some kick to it! This time I ordered the Chicken Tacos Al Carbon. They were delicious and they double the shells! I was just a little bummed they didn’t offer different kinds of sauces, but still a great meal. The prices are fair, as you can see on the menu. I’m definitely looking forward to going back in the future.

This restaurant never disappoints
This time I didn’t order my usual but got a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup. It was delicious and I definitely will have it again. There are three Mexicsn Fiestas (one in Hartland, Canton and Dearborn Heights (the one I usually go to). We were in Harland to go to Rural King store
If you never went to that store, it’s a definite yes to go.

Wait staff are nice – but beware, this is not Mexican food. Salsa is watered-down V8, food has no flavor. Couldn’t tell you the last time this place was vacuumed. Not a single soul in this place with any Spanish background.. Think Old Country Buffet of Mexican food.

Our first time here, friendly staff our Waitess was super nice very tentative. Water is always filled..this place is very clean .
Our food came out quick, hot freash .nachos was good, but we ordered the wrong 1.
Tacos are good, decent sized, but needed more veggies .fajita was good hot
And yes, they charge you 3.8 percent on credit card charges. Used cash if u don’t like the Xtra charge. I personally don’t mind every place now they charge for credit usage.

The food is great. They limit one basket of chips per every grouping of four, meaning if you have a group of four or less you only get one basket. If you have more than four you’ll get more than one basket. If you want more chips after your first basket, you’ll be charged for additional.
The fajitas were well seasoned and served sizzling hot with so many vegetables.
The atmosphere is very drab, mostly just a wide open room with some booths and free standing tables in the middle. The bar is set back but that also takes away from the energy of the restaurant.
