I’ve been here multiple times throughout the last 4 years and every time it doesn’t disappoint at all. The go to is their fried catfish is perfectly seasoned and the breading on it is not to thick it’s thin and crispy it’s the second best thing on the menu in my opinion and you have to pair it with the side of Mac’n cheese and collard greens. They have THE BEST collard greens in the city. The collard greens is the best thing on the menu. The chicken and waffles is amazing perfectly crispy and seasoned well not too spicy I’d say it’s a good contender against Roscoe’s chicken and waffles in LA. The biscuits and gravy was hella good. The gravy is very flavorful and not overly floured it’s a great consistency not too thick or runny. The omelette is huge so you definitely get your moneys worth with that. I don’t have much to say about the pancakes a lot of places can make a great pancake, that doesn’t mean it was bad it just an item that can’t really be messed up. If you’re thinking of coming here please do but make sure you get here before 11:30am it gets packed and busy until around 2pm. They don’t have any restrictions on when they start serving lunch. The full menu is available no matter what time you arrive. They are also available on DoorDash.

I’ve been eating at Sarom’s Southern Kitchen since 2016, and let me tell you—this place has never missed. Be prepared for a well-worth-it wait, because everything coming out of that kitchen is cooked with love and flavor you can taste in every bite.

Honestly, everything on the menu is good, but my personal go-tos are the greens (perfectly seasoned, just how they should be) and the hot & spicy chicken sandwich—crispy, juicy, and packed with just the right amount of heat.

And whatever you do… do not forget the pie. You truly can’t go wrong, but my favorites are the sweet potato pie, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. Straight comfort food heaven.

The rest of the food isn’t pictured because it was too good to slow down and take photos If you’re looking for real Southern food that stays consistent year after year, Sarom’s Southern Kitchen is that place. Highly recommend—every single time.

The food was amazing. Best part is they had Crystals hot sauce. Service was great. I love finding these hidden gems.

Been coming here for years, I don’t live close by anymore but we went a couple weekends ago and it’s still just as good, everything I get is always delicious and the staff cracks me up.
Jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwich, banana pudding, I do not care!! I’m going back this weekend. Thanks Sarom’s for keeping it consistent

Incredible Southern kitchen nestled in the del Paso heights area. This is feel good, family food with no shortage of butter, biscuits, and heart.

Got my order to go, but even the to go was packaged with consideration and care. The gumbo was what brought me here, and it still looks just as good in the to-go container at home as it would have in a bowl in-restaurant.

The very first time I ate at Sarom’s several years ago, it was just great — and everytime my wife, various family members, and I have gone there since, it somehow just gets better – and is never a disappointment. Today was absolutely the best ever – the food was fabulous as usual, the service was great and I had a blended Mocha Freeze that was better than any I’ve had at Starbucks, Petes, or other coffee places – and it was onl $6! If you’ve not been there, put it on your list — you can expect to wait for a table (we always had to wait), but don’t expect a high end type of ambiance, because everything else makes up for it!!

This should be a five star review but service this Sunday was below basic. Resturaunt wasn’t very busy for a Sunday (we’ve been before and have had to wait), but today we waited at the door for quite a while with four clean empty tables visible. They did say sorry for the wait when they seated us, saying that they needed the time to clean tables.

Food here is good and the prices are reasonable, but quality has gone down recently. We discovered the Southern Kitchen during the pandemic and have been three or four times a year since 2021.

Today we felt invisible. No one was rude, but they didn’t check on us, never filled drinks (we ended up asking, but had to ask twice to actually get refills) and the place wasn’t hopping, so we couldn’t understand why we got the cold shoulder.

Was it because we had a three year old with us? Because there were multiple families with small kids and they seemed to be getting the love.

Anyway, Southern Kitchen is on probation with our family. And the biscuits and gravy were terrible today too.

Shame.

I am sad that I did not visit this place long ago… It was a dining delight… every menu I we ordered was a 5 in taste and portion… I had take home (to the Bay Area). I was anxious to dive in and continue my dining experience… I reheated the grits and they returned to perfection (because they started out that way!)… The waffle was fluffy and hot. The bacon was thick and meaty. The WHOLE chicken wing was a welcomed treat…
Next time… and SOON… I will include photos.
Due to popularity, there was a short wait- worth it! The service was great! Attentive, but not intrusive… Oh… best of all the prices are very decent and ample portions… Treat yourself!

Our first time here for breakfast and it’s a Gem of a place! Very clean, music on point and we got there before the rush. We had hot chocolate, then i got scrambled eggs with country potatoes and corned beef hash, and my daughter got the Monica special (omelette). The portions matches the price and the food was scrumptious!

I’ve been here several times and I’m long due for a review. I came on a Thursday for lunch and the wait was not too bad. The servers were friendly and I was seated quickly.

I ordered the Jambalaya and it was very tasty. The Jambalaya came with homemade cornbread and that went well with the Jambalaya. Most of the dishes I’ve had here were good and I would come back to try the other menu items. The servers were attentive and I stayed hydrated!
