I was excited to try Sonka for the first time. The cod sandwich was good but the coleslaw was disappointing, no carrots, no tasty. The potato cakes were small more like tators tots. My husband got a salad with lots of ingredients. It’d help if the food was served in larger dishes, it was a lot for the small plates. What we really liked were the prices, cheaper than similar places. What we didn’t like is the flies that were flying around our dishes, really annoying. The waiters were nice and the vibe of the place was pretty good. Parking was a little difficult

The new owner was awesome. He went above and beyond. Otherwise everything else like the same great place. I don’t know how they’re salads are so good, but it’s like i’ve never I tasted a salad before. And I always get the beef stew, which I promise myself, every time i’m going to try something different, and I don’t. Good black and tans. Huge draft selection. They said they were gonna stay pet friendly. I really just can’t say enough great things about the place.

This was our first time there and it was great. The prices were very reasonable. I had the Horseradish burger on pumpernical and my husband had the fish sandwich which he really liked. The Irish Stew was a letdown though. Basically like mashed potatoes and there was no meat in it. I had Irish Stew in Ireland it was not this. We will definitely return there.

My favorite bar in town! This atmosphere is so chill and the food is always amazing. Half priced apps on Wednesdays and trivia on Thursday! So many beers on tap and they rotate to always try something new. Definitely a place to hang out with friends. When it’s nice outside, I can spend hours on their patio. Servers are so friendly. On busy nights, be prepared for food to come out a bit later, but sip on a cold one while you wait.

Stopped in for lunch on our way through town. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and it was a fun atmosphere! Highly recommend and will be stopping in again if in the area in the future for a hot sandwich and cold beer!

It’s a nice switch up from your standard bar and barfood fare. Staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. The variety on the menu would cover most groups looking for something satisfying. The Trival Pursuit cards on the table were a nice touch. I’d love to give 5 stars but the food fell flat. It looked great and portions were good. The three of us ordered the fried pickles, they were alright, not greasy or too much breading. The fish sandwich had a breading on the fish that goes much better with chicken I feel. The other ordered items were an Olive burger and the chili cheese burger. The consensus was that the burger itself tasted dried out, almost like it was cooked the previous day and reheated. Regardless I’d go back and just try something else. The bloody Mary was super, the mix they use was awesome. Definitely worth another shot even though we didn’t like what we had the first go around.

Feeling lucky today? Check out Sonka Irish Pub in Terre Haute, Indiana for tasty Irish food, cold brews, and fun Irish decor/vibes. Start off with some Blarney Stones (fried pickles), Bavarian Pretzel Sticks, or some Leprechaun Wings! Sonka’s has a large menu ranging from spuds, to salads, burgers, sandwiches, soups, seafood options, meat & cheese boards, and more. I ordered the Tailless Surf & Blarney Turf: tailless shrimp and two Blarney Angus beef cheese burgers served with their homebrewed Irish chips & onion dip. Make sure to add Sonka Irish Pub to your food bucket list while you are in Terre Haute, Indiana!

This was a fun spot. The service was great. The atmosphere was your classic Irish Pub. The food was only so so. In my experience every Irish Pub should have a killer bowl of soup with a killer hunk of bread.

Not bad. Rueben was good. Get chips over the cole slaw. 75 cent wings, bbq sauce was ok. Plenty of beer on tap. Street justice beer was memorable. Should do half and half with a Guinness and call it Irish street justice, just sayin. Overall didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.
