This review is long overdue. I’ve given this restaurant several opportunities over the past year, hoping to see improvement, but unfortunately, the same issues persist.

The food is decent, and for the most part, the service is as well. However, the cleanliness and overall atmosphere are unacceptable. As a former restaurant owner/manager, I recognize when there’s a lack of accountability, and that’s exactly what’s happening here.

I remember when this location first opened under Dave’s leadership — he ran a tight ship. The difference is noticeable.

The photos attached highlight just a few concerns from today’s visit. The front entrance may look like moisture or frost from the weather, but it’s actually grease and grime — hardly the first impression you want guests to have. There was also a washcloth stuffed into a hole in the wall above our table. When I pointed it out to our server, she responded, “Wow, that’s odd — I’ve honestly never noticed that.” My response was, “That’s kind of the point.” The lack of attention to detail is exactly the issue — no one seems to be noticing.

The General Manager was walking the floor confidently, but it would serve her well to slow down and truly look around. Pride in leadership should be reflected in the environment, and right now, it simply isn’t.

I truly hope management takes these concerns seriously. This location has potential, but without stronger attention to cleanliness and detail, it will continue to fall short.

I went to Amsterdam Recovery Room for lunch and two of us wanted to share the fried pickles and buffalo chicken wontons. After ordering, our waitress came back and said they were out of the wontons and asked if we wanted something else, so we ordered fries. When our meal arrived, we ended up receiving all three appetizers—the fried pickles, buffalo chicken wontons, and fries. Our server never checked back with us, and we wouldn’t have ordered the fries if we had known the wontons were actually available. The fries weren’t expensive, but it was frustrating to pay for three appetizers when we only intended to have two. I just wish the staff had communicated more clearly so we could have made our own choice.

15 years in Amsterdam and this is my first time trying Recovery.

Mostly because I’ve heard this is just your typical bar food establishment but pricier, and what i heard was not entirely wrong. The food is pretty common bar type food, and the prices are on the expensive side. But the service, is much better than I remember about Apple B clones

Ordered online and went with the Southwest Salad, no meat, and an order of the 10 piece Chicken Wings. Picking the Cheerleader and Asian Sesame Seed flavors. Put the pickup time for quite a bit later in the day, but everything worked out pretty well.

Picked up at the selected time and the meal was ready to go, and once back home I was totally digging the salad. Lots of spicy flavor, good amount of toppings, and crispy lettuce. Totally worth the $11. The wings on the other hand, while ok, did not blow my socks off for the $17 price tag. Seriously. You can get far better deals at more local establishments, maybe not as many flavors, but far less expensive.

But with good service and a fantastic salad, I’d still come back.

Ordered fish and chips among other food, waitress was extra awesome super nice and courteous. Received my fish and chips and was very disappointed on size for $20 bucks. A manager came to see me and confirmed this was appropriate and was to corporate specs, wow.. He offered one extra filet which I declined and told him it was corporates fault and needs to be addressed, although a single beer would’ve made me happy, im really easy when it comes to a complimentary beer. Anyway the waitress brought me some buns and I made a great little sandwich with these two little pieces.

Stopped for lunch while passing through town. Great lunch specials. Chicken fingers were big, homemade and tasty. Not the usual “frozen” fingers. BBQ and honey mustard dipping sauces were also very good. Turkey BLT was also delicious. Service was great. They have lots of TV’s with different sports on them. Large comfortable booths.

Great layout to watch sports. Tvs on every wall. Nice open bar area.
Abby was my bartender and she was very nice and helpful.
I ordered brussel sprouts and received more than i should’ve. It was good except the sprouts were burnt.
Also, order chicken tacos that were really good. Add their spicy house sauce. It had a kick but was to liquidity.
Lastly, had a cocktail that was made by Abby and she nailed it.

Hostess seated us and then we sat there for 20 minutes with not one person checking in on us. No drink or food ordered. We got up and walked out. No one even acknowledged us. Worst experience ever.

Waited 15 minutes after being seated at our table to not get acknowledged at all or even ask us what we wanted to drink, multiple waitresses walked by and didn’t stop, my husband and I got up and walked out. They weren’t that busy either so that wasn’t the excuse.

The waiter (I think his name was Henry?) was amazing and took great care of us! We went to watch a game and got just what we ordered, but unfortunately our team lost. We weren’t rushed to leave or anything so it was very nice. Thank you!
