They have a great selection of signature, cocktails, and special cocktails. They are decently priced for top shelf liquor. We then went to our table where there was the barbecue stove, and the hot pot stove. We chose to eat the Korean barbecue. They have a wide variety of meats to choose from that are all you can eat, as well as vegetables!! It was SOOO GOOD. And our waitress Lillian’s customer service was unmatched and some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. The employees are happy and the customers are happy. if you’re looking for a great date, night spot with great drinks, and a great city like atmosphere this is the place to go!
On a chilly Monday afternoon—December 22, 2025—I met my kids for an early dinner at KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot (3333 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI), drawn by my daughter’s enthusiastic recommendation. As first-timers to this style of dining—my son and I, at least—we were eager to dive into the all-you-can-eat experience that blends Korean barbecue with traditional hot pot.
We arrived around 4 PM and were promptly seated, though our table near the entrance proved less than ideal. Each time the door opened, a brisk 33°F gust from the Michigan winter parking lot swept in, reminding us why corner booths might be worth requesting in colder months.
That minor chill aside, the service was outstanding. Our waiter and the food runners were exceptionally kind, patient, and knowledgeable, guiding us novices through the process with helpful tips on broth selections, grilling techniques, and sauce combinations. Their attentiveness turned what could have been an overwhelming introduction into a smooth and enjoyable one.
Opting for the combined hot pot and Korean BBQ option (a worthwhile upgrade for the full experience), we indulged in an abundance of premium beef cuts, pork morsels, fresh vegetables, sausages, ramen noodles, rice cakes, and more. Cooking at the table—sizzling meats on the built-in grill while simmering ingredients in flavorful broth—added a fun, hands-on element that sparked plenty of laughter and conversation. It’s safe to say the interactive nature elevated a simple meal into quality family time, far more memorable than a standard dinner out.
Admittedly, the process can feel a bit confusing at first (am I overcooking the beef? Did I add enough veggies to the pot?), but that’s part of the charm—and the generous portions ensure you’ll leave satisfied regardless. My hot pot ended up rather full by meal’s end, a testament to the sheer variety available. The combined option for a family of three ran roughly the same cost as a family trip to Disney, but the quality, quantity, and sheer enjoyment made it feel like a worthwhile splurge.
KPOT delivers a vibrant, modern take on Korean BBQ and hot pot that’s perfect for adventurous eaters or groups seeking something beyond the ordinary. Highly recommended for a fun night out—just bundle up if you get the door-side seat!
Pick your broth, veggies, meats, and mushrooms. The broth is heated on your individual burner, toss your food in and let it cook. Easy peasy. It’s all delish.
Lots of seating but it gets full fast. A bit on the noisy side but seems normal for this type of environment.
There’s a section in the back with extras. They have loads of sauces, tons of toppings, delicious kimchi, desserts, fried rice, and even French fries for the picky eaters.
If your never had hot pot or Korean bbq, this is where ya gotta go
The food was good, the service was good. The only thing is when we ordered some things they were out of at the time we went and then when we ordered more than a few items, some were “forgotten” and needed to be ordered in the app again.
The food is good and fun to do as an activity for the family. I just wish the tables were a little bit longer and wider for a family of four it is a bit cramped with all the dishes. Also after so long what they don’t tell you is you have a time limit of what you can order and eat before they turn off your grill and hot pot surface, but it is still a pretty significant amount of time. But could still let you know of the time limit, especially for first timers and people with younger children eating there as it takes some time to cook your food.
The menu you order from is from a tablet and multiple options which at first can be a little overwhelming and don’t be afraid to ask. If doing the hotpot, you need to order a broth quantity for each person, even if you are all having the same broth or they will only bring out one serving intended for one person. Be careful when eating the soup and ingredients you put in there, as it is extremely hot. Give it a little blow to cool down and eat it slowly as it will definitely warm you up.
The overall atmosphere is good and the lunch deal with a decent price with adding the hot pot (at time of writing this) is only an additional $5 per person which is not terrible as any soup anywhere else you go is bound to he 5 or more.
Will love to keep going back, but would love to see them come more my way on the southwest side of the state.
