A piece of nostalgia and a good meal too. I can remember going to Shoney’s with my grandparents when I was a kid traveling back and forth from NC to WV and it has always been a place that I attach those fleeting memories of time spent with them. My family and I have the privilege to eat at Shoney’s on November 10 and not only did it make me wish my grandparents were still with us, but also solidified that while you’re not at a fine dining restaurant you are still at a place that serves down home meals at and affordable price with service rarely seen these days. Our server Tiny was not just keen to ensure that we were taken care of she also had quick wit and made sure our needs were met. The fried fish and fried chicken were cooked and seasoned well and the salad was great. The green beans tasted great too and of course to end the meal we shared a fudge cake. I can’t wait to go back again soon and am thankful in this economy a family of 4 can have a good meal with good service and spend way less than $100. Thank you Shoney’s in Chesterfield for letting fond memories be remembered.

Excellent breakfast buffet. PERFECT eggs…lots of fresh well made choices. The only complaint was the price. It was a Saturday morning… and BTW not difficult to get a seat… but expensive. REVIEW 2: we went back on a weekday hoping and expecting the price would be lower. NOPE! OK, $1 less. And this time the food was mostly dried out. Very few people, which is why it’s dried out. Maybe, I don’t know, lower your prices to bring in more people? We’re done. $20 each for breakfast with a coffee including an 18% tip. Waffle House would have saved us $13, we would have enjoyed the food and felt full…

Shoney’s , Hull St. Rd., Richmond, VA was great as usual! Food, service, our blonde waitress was on point ensuring that all of our needs were met. We sat in front. Nice, quiet ambiance because very few patrons were present during this middle part of the month. I forgot to take food photos being famished following 2 hour drive from Lynchburg there to attend a workshop then approximately 20-30 minutes drive from church ⛪️ there.
Ate fried trout, mashed potatoes , green beans, macaroni and cheese ( it was from the box, Not baked ) tasty no bread & drank an Arnold Palmer (lemonade and tea).

I decided to try this place as I worked at a Shoney’s in AZ as a teenager, before they all closed. We went and had the breakfast buffet. It was terrible. We both came home and got sick. Will not be going back again regardless of the nostalgia The floor was so slick we were nervous to walk around the bar.

My parents love coming here after their doctor appointments. It reminds us of old school meals back in the day. Everything is fresh, the food is good and hot. The bathrooms are clean, and the attendants/servers are always so nice.

Came here for breakfast and the service and food was great. The waitress made sure to keep my coffee cup full which is always a plus. Breakfast buffet also looked good but I opted for the country fried steak. The biscuits were also delicious!

Went here for dinner, Not impressed with the Chicken strips meal I ordered. The chicken looked very cheap and mostly white filler inside a poorly breaded tender. It looked gross and i didn’t eat them, the fries and Salad were good but I would recommend Shoneys finding a better quality chicken strip Supplier because they were Terrible! They Looked like something they give you in jail and I didnt complain to the staff because that would have added more dread to the already bad situation. Do better Shoneys….or Shutdown

Still holding strong. The dinner buffet, while not huge, had everything well cooked and delicious. The staff were very curtious and friendly.i saw plenty of wait staff talking with guests as if they were long time friends. Definately gave a positive atmosphere. I enjoyed my stay and will return!

Long time fan of Shoneys. The last time we were there, it wasn’t great. We decided to give a try again yesterday. We were so disappointed. The food on the buffet was barely warm. But the worst thing-nothing had been “stirred “, so 90% of the food was covered with an ugly film. That made everything look very unappetizing, especially the potato soup. I hate to see Shoneys go downhill, as we have so many great family memories associated with Shoneys.

Very disappointing. I had my mouth set on some good meatloaf… it wasn’t good at all. And, I was on lunch break so didn’t have time to sit and eat. I had 3 slices, mashed potatoes, and some greens. I ended up paying about $22 because of the weight. Not worth it.
