Complimentary chips were good, salsa was meh (order a side of hot salsa / oil if you want to zing it up).
I had the Burrito Azteca and my wife had a taco salad.
It was all really good. Seems like it’d be a fun place for a group dinner party.
First visit- we got the street corn appetizer and tamale. It was ok. The corn had good flavor and could be shareable, if need be. I cut mine easily off the cob to share. They came with a lime wedge to squeeze on. The tamale was typical, good flavor and consistency. For the mains I got the Chimichanga (plus is discounted on Friday’s to <$10). You get two, one beef and one chicken. My preference was the chicken, I did not care for the beef one. It is a very small minced beef and had good flavor, I did not like the consistency feel of the tortilla/beef/sogginess from steam and cheese. Their rice is really well flavored!
Second visit *pictured*- I ordered the ACP and was very surprised at how tender and flavorful the chicken was. Great portion size and served with tortillas.
My husband got the la oaxaqueña, which was amazing! It was served like fajitas, arrived screaming hot and smoking. The flavor has a nice char and the meat was so tender. He definitely has found a new favorite! Served with another dish of rice and charro beans. The beans had a smooth base and chunky with beans, pork bacon, fat and almost like Vienna sausage cut up. They had a great smoky char taste and well seasoned.
Two meals, one kid meal, 3 soda/tea drinks for $62
We are definitely impressed and look forward to coming back soon!
The food was wonderful. The guacamole was spot on, a perfect combo of texture and flavor with the amount of onions and saltiness.
The refried beans are some of the best I have had in Ohio, and close to what I grew up with in another state and look for at Mexican restaurants.
The lunch taco salad was amazing, and the taco shell was the best I have had anywhere. The chicken was perfectly tender and juicy.
I would say I wish the salsa was a thicker as it was a little watery, and I wish it was spicy. If it isn’t burning my mouth enough to make my eyes water, it isn’t the right amount of spice. I humbly request they add another salsa option, keeping their current recipe labeled mild and make a spicier version of it.
Overall, an amazing restaurant that I am excited to come back to again.
I ordered the Ohio steak, and it was alright — not bad, but nothing special. My mom got fajitas without vegetables, and they were very dry and pretty bland. You could chew them, but they just didn’t have much flavor.
The horchata was way too sweet for my taste. On the bright side, I did enjoy the strawberry Jarritos — always a good choice. Our server, Cristal, was super nice and polite, which I appreciated. However, we did have to wait a while to be attended to, and the place was really crowded and loud. People were talking over each other and it got kind of annoying. The music was fine, though nothing memorable.
As for the prices, they were a bit on the expensive side for the quality of food and overall experience.
Not terrible, but not somewhere I’d rush back to.
