We had a nice visit thanks to the very friendly service and pleasant atmosphere, but for us, the food didn’t quite live up to the price point. The chips were perfectly fine, though the salsa felt a bit more like a plain tomato base than the authentic, zesty kick we were hoping for.
Overall, the meal was average, and given the higher prices, we were looking for a bit more of that traditional Mexican spark. While the staff made us feel very welcome, it probably won’t be a repeat destination for us when we have a craving for Mexican food.

Went here during the wine walk. The service and atmosphere were wonderful. We got the nachos to share and based on all the other Mexican restaurants we went to in the past the nachos here were non existent. It was 21 dollars for like 20-25 chips, some toppings, and steak. Very disappointing. First time at this restaurant and I love Mexican so it was very sad.

This is one of my favorite Irish Mexican bars. Food is good and the margaritas are delish. It’s a fun atmosphere and you can usually get in without much problem this time of year. Interesting combination. Irish/ Mexican.

Generous portion of good food. Excellent jazz. We had to flag down someone to get service (it was very busy, and seating ourselves may have added to the oversight). Our server had a super attitude and did a great job.

TLDR; The worst, most expensive Mexican food I have had in years. Staff was friendly, but the food was awful.

I ordered the chicken chimi and a sweet tea.

Everything needed salt. The chimi was bland, the rice was bland, the beans tasted like they can straight from a can. The lettuce was good. Chips were ok, salsa was good. The tea tasted like water, with the slightest hint of tea tannins. No hint of sweetness.

The CCQ (their version of queso), it was also terrible. It had a distinct flavor and texture of plastic cheese. It must have some amount of Velveeta in it. That’s exactly what it reminded me of. It was truly an insult to queso sauce.

Finally, it was $60 for two chimis, a water, a sweet tea, a kids chicken enchilada ($12?!? That’s insanely expensive for the tiny serving!) and two kids orange juices.

I for one will never revist this terrible establishment and will always encourage my friends and family to avoid it.

No amount of friendly customer service can cover up the aweful food.

SMALL PORTIONS. Ordered fajita and tortilia soup, no drinks, for total of $40. Bowl of soup was half full and kids size of fajita. Everything taste good but little disappointed. Usually Mexican pleases serve good amount of stuff on plate for half what I’ve paid here.

So the customer service was good but the tacos were disappointing, well not all of them. So the steak taco was good but the shrimp tacos we had to send back because it was overly saturated in salt which made it inedible. The black beans and rice were under seasoned so it tasted as if a can of black beans were just poured in a pot to boil for a bit. I ate one with tons of sour cream and avocado to see if I could cut some salt and it helped but the second taco was sent back for a new one. The queso was good. I like that they have you the tomato, jalapeño and onions on the side so you are able to choose how much texture and spice u want in your queso. The pomegranate and coconut mojito is delicious. The more coconut cream the better. Super refreshing and after one and a half I left drunk. It was nice. I wasn’t driving fyi. #tryit

Clancy’s Cantina is hands down one of the most disappointing Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that authenticity and flavor were nowhere on the priority list.

The tacos were bland and poorly assembled, with dry meat that tasted like it had been sitting around far too long. The tortillas were cold and lifeless, doing nothing to hold the mess together. The salsa lacked any kick or freshness—it tasted more like watered-down tomato sauce than something meant to complement Mexican food.

Portions were unimpressive for the price, and the overall quality felt rushed and careless. Even the atmosphere couldn’t save the experience; it tried to be fun and festive but came across as loud and chaotic instead.

If you’re looking for bold flavors, fresh ingredients, or even a decent meal, Clancy’s Cantina isn’t it. There are far better options out there that actually respect Mexican cuisine and your wallet.
